Until his last fight I would have said Guerrero is a better measuring stick but he looks shot to pieces now.
Maybe Devon Alexander or Diego Chaves or something next. After that then he needs to be fighting the top guys like Maidana if/when he comes back.
Spence passed Ortiz a long time ago. He would knock Ortiz out in the first round in my opinion. I think Spence is ready to fight a top 10 world rated welterweight and I think he will beat whoever they put him in with. He is ready now.
Victor Ortiz was never that special even in his prime....So even "prime" Victor Ortiz from 3 years ago may not have won against Spence...Spence would definitely have a chance against ANY version of Victor Ortiz imo.....
I am impressed with Spence, but he does have some defensive flaws....He's great on the inside, but I wonder how he will do against a fighter who forces him to fight at range like Lara does to his opponents....
I think this would be a good measuring stick for Spence.. Thoughts?
Ortiz 3 years ago definitely but Spence vs Collazo or Guererro would be a better assessment. Both of Guerrero and Collazo have absorbed a tremendous amount of punishment this year though.
