The welterweight division is wide open and Pacquaio was really the last great hope
If guys like Thurman, Porter, Maidana, Brook, Bradley, Khan actually fight each other and beat 2-3 by next May, I could see Mayweather coming back next year to end his career at number 50...what do you think
Absolutely not. He made it about as clear as possible that he is retired for good and he doesn't want to fight the Canelo-Cotto winner or anyone else. He is not interested in breaking Marciano's record. I know some fighters say they are retired and then come back in less than a year. They didn't just make close to 300 million bucks or whatever gigantic amount of money he made. Enjoy his Berto fight because that's the last time we will ever see him in a pro boxing match. If by some fluke Berto wins then I could imagine Mayweather's ego forcing him into a rematch but the odds against Berto winning are 80 to1.
Garcia and Khan over Brook and Bradley? ha what a joke
Bradley deserves the floyd fight more than any welterweight, but bradley is a Top Rank fighter. He has no shot at fighting floyd due too that fact.
Brook is on the outside looking in because he isn't a Al Haymon fighter.
I gave you real possibilities, those 4 guys have a real shot at fighting floyd if he decides to fight on.
Brook needs that Khan fight to really be in the discussion.
too bad khan won't give it to him
Porter vs garcia
Khan vs thurman
Winners meet in the spring.
Floyd fights the last man standing in september.
That makes the most sense.
But this is boxing. Expect to see
Khan vs who cares
Garcia vs who cares
Thurman vs who cares
Porter vs who cares
Sadley that's what its been....Thurman vs guerrero was the only ww fight with 2 top ten contenders in forever
I think PBC is just trying to build the fighters up then match them up
Porter vs garcia

I know. I'm saying there are potentially younger guys who I have an eye on that may separate themselves from the others at welterweight, but they need more time (to get a few decent fights). Unfortunately, it will be in 2-3 years is what I was saying.
i see........
Pacquiao seperated from the pack in 2009 and then slowly merged back into the pack it took that long to make the fight. I doubt any fight of that magnitude would get made that quickly.
Floyd will be 39 next year

There are some fighters that need some more time to get to that point, but unfortunately, Floyd will be like 41-42 at this time.
I don't see it happening regardless (although if he chooses to fight it will happen), because the majority of the welterweights act like diva's and feel they are entitled to fighting bums until they get a big PPV fight.
This right here. If any of these guys fight each other don't expect the winners to face each other. It's all a milking process fight a stiff competitor then 2/3 tune ups rinse and repeat.
Boxing has become a joke and this welterweight division is the biggest joke.

Depends who it is, but more likely September than May imo.
You left out Garcia btw, one guy I could see him coming back for if he puts a run together.
I don't think he'll go one a run strong enough between now til may even sept.
He has to beat a guerrero level guy, then a middle top ten, and or maybe a khan, Brook or Bradley....he has some work to do and I don't see Haymon putting him in tough and he just got his feet wet at 147
