I would go half on a PPV to watch him fight the game lol..... But on a honest note, I think fif was or is good for our sport. In a nutshell, he attempted to be a successful promoter and made a boxing movie in our sports honor (or was starring). That's awesome. I love boxing and anything that gives my sport love and media attention is cool w me.
Dude filed for bankruptcy, whether or not it made him broke, that will not stop his tremendous work ethic (which i highly respect)...He will return with a vengeance for people saying he is broke and washed up......
He symbolizes a champion caliber boxer that was on a strong winning streak and then got dropped in a single fight and is trying to win the last rounds to avoid a loss during the fight. So back up some who reps our sport you fVcks and dont be like everyone else who kicks a man when he is down, especially when he reps our set (boxing):D
That's all.
This track is smooth as hell btw..... :boxing:
50 hasn't made a good song since his GRODT days.
Also, Game would whoop 50 no doubt. 50 didn't want none when Game ran up on him at the radio station and 50 hid behind security.
9 shots is the sh1t. You are clearly hatin............that's a possibility....
I don't give a s**t about 50's boxing ventures but I f**k with his music. Seems like 50 was supposed to be partners with Gayweather and ended up being stuck on his own in something his heart wasn't fully invested in.
That "9 Shots" track is fire. Hopefully 50 keeps dropping s**t that is similar to that instead of trying to go with what's popular.
I'd love to see 50 beat the s**t out of The Game in a boxing match, :boxing:.
Yeah 9 shots is the biz...... good fight, game has the height and range advantage. Game would be the favorite imo. :boxing:
He seemed misguided & without a plan with his promotional attempt. I'm not sure he ever had his own card, he just leeched on to the bigger guys cards so he seemed more like a manager than anything to me.
Idk about him being good or bad for boxing. He was just sorta there in Mayweather's 24/7's & than just sorta there as a sorta kinda promoter.
He did have his own card, Billy Dib lost to Evgeny Gradovich in the main event.
I disagree, 50 just thought he'd come in and pimp and exploit boxers/boxing to maximize his profits like he's done with every entertainment field he's been in (music, movies, clothes, ect.). Problem for him was, the established guys, who are probably even greedier and sleazier than him, weren't going to let his some new guy just come and dictate things without putting in work. 50 was banking on Mayweather and possibly Haymon having his back so it's no surprise he completely failed and ended up being ran out of boxing when they didn't want anything to do with him. You can tell by his relationship with the boxers he had (Gamboa, Dirrell, ect.) that he just didn't care about them once he saw being a boxing promoter wasn't going to be a quick and bankable money grab.
Jay Z, however, looks to be doing a much better job and appears to have a more grounded plan to succeed in the boxing business. It's no surprise though, Jay Z has always been superior to 50 in every business avenue. Possibly because Jay actually puts forth the effort and shows passion in everything he does unlike 50 who has always been trying to make a quick buck with cheap marketing tricks and gimmicks.
I think that's a little unfair. Sure he wanted to make money, just like all promoters but characterizing him as a would-be Don King doesn't reflect what he actually did in the sport.
As a boxing fan, he put his fighters in against good opponents, that's all we can ask for really. It's what Oscar's doing right now.
Jay-Z is arguably doing a better job, but he had deeper pockets to begin with and likely still in the red right now as far boxing goes (not that it should matter to us, only the fights).

What was his boxing movie OP?
I agree, 50 wasn't too bad. He put on Crawford-Gamboa & Canelo-Kirkland. He was open to making good fights which is more than most promoters right now.
He's not broke though, I wouldn't go feeling sorry for him on that score.
Southpaw....
I don't feel sorry for his financial woes, but knowing his mentality he will come back stronger (an intangible that many lack which is admirable). :boxing:
I'm still pissed about Gamboa throwing his career away signing with him, smh.
Gamboa's career was altered by losing to crawford via getting knocked out....
