One of the most overrated resume of boxing history possibly on the same level of Rocky Marciano with a mix of Joe Calzaghe and Sven Ottke.
With the mention of Rocky Marciano I think It'd be fair to say that Floyd decided to pick the fight with Manny Pacquiao six years when he went through losses against Bradley (controversial) and Juan Manuel Marquez KO loss instead of fighting him right after the dominating win over Miguel Cotto.
The thing is can we really take a fighter serious who is suppose to be rated with the greats of Sugar Ray Robinson and Muhammad Ali when he dictated so much of his career on when he decided to fight his opponents?
For me this is a massive deduction to credit and legitimacy to rating of his overall career and partly why he wont be rated higher than Manny Pacquiao overall in the ratings.
To be a great it means more than waiting out and making smart decisions i.e. when a fighter is past his best that is a smart decision but not something which proves you as the best quality fighter this is why someone like Wladimir Klitschko deserves to be rated ahead of him, you just simply cannot always determine your opponents all the time and expect to be rated as the number one not only does Wladimir pick the better opponents but he is the better ambassador for the sport who doesn't disrespect the sport of boxing with any criminal behavior win or loss against Tyson Fury it is clear as day that Wladimir is being unfairly treated because of the hype around Floyds name not the accomplishments of the man.
Name a fighter tht has fought better competition in his last 4 fights..
Who has fought better guys than canelo, Maidana twice, and manny???
Please name the fighter that has fought better opponents
How about reading my post? Would he have beaten all those you mentioned without the duck and hold? Without the miss then push? Withoiut the headlocks?
These moves are part of Floyd's standard fighting procedure. Would he have survived all his fights by just fighting fair?
hahahahahaha of course i was rooting for pac. i will always root for REAL HEROES. deep down in my heart i hoped, prayed and wanted to believe that manny could beat up floyd. i willed myself to believe it could be true and that he could pull off one last great performance. it didn't change the fact that i knew he was completely past it and not the same pac of 2009/10. nice try u punk. kind of sad u had to do this type of digging because i'm completely pwning u here.
again just face it floyd NEVER BEAT ANY ELITE FIGHTER IN THEIR PRIME. that's the real argument that u're failing at.
In other words, you get homotional about the fighters you love, and thats what makes you write the BS you write here everyday.
Yep Floyd resume has no dam substance it's a joke like larrys threads, going to love how the boxing historians are going to pick his career a part for many generations or he will be forgotten like jack Johnson, almost feel sorry for Larry but he will have mays balls to suck on
Mayweather's prime has been 147.
The difference is, Mayweather is SUPPOSED TO BE A GREAT FIGHTER.
Great fighters are supposed to do great things. Roberto Duran beat Iran Barkley who had beaten Tommy Hearns for the middleweight championship.
But Mayweather is just an ordinary boxer. Truth is, he's been carefully matched and always has a home advantage, referees (Cortez, Bayless) and judges (for the Castillo fight) there to help out when needed.
And he's a boring, safety-first boxer who just goes for UDs (unless he sees the chance for a sucker punch).
147 is when you first saw him fight, you mean.
Because he was faster, quicker, had more power, threw more punches, had size advantages, took more risks, better offensively... at the lower weights.
Its either you never saw those fights OR you have clue what the term "prime" means. Which is it?
Its not the fighters name that matters. Its when you fight the fighter that means everything.
Soo, how does that translate for Manny with DLH, Hatton, Mosley, Cotto etc?
In his prime, Guerrero was a featherweight.

And?
When he was a Welterweight you considered him Top 10 P4P.
So you must have thought he was a good WW.

You had Guerrero ranked #10 p4p
1 Floyd Mayweather
2 Sergio Martinez
3 Manny Pacquiao
4 Wladimir Klitschko
5 Juan Manuel Marquez
6 Nonito Donaire
7 Andre Ward
8 Vitali Klitschko
9 Danny Garcia
10 Robert Guerrero
Yeah 10th I'd say.
Featherweight is 126, lightweight is 135.
I'm surprised, I thought you would knew that.
If Mayweather has that belt at 154, he should defend it or drop it. GGG said he'll move down to the weight 154 where Floyd has the WBC belt, no catch weight. GGG is a small middleweight.
Not only has Mayweather's prime lasted 20 years, it also spanned 5 weight classes.
I mean, thats gotta be some kind of record right?
Because it doesnt seem humanly possible...
in the last 5 years, boring fraud jr never had an exciting fight and eventually will be proven that he's one of the few fraud champs that will be easily forgotten.
his legacy is comparable to a stinky fart. smells but will dissipate quickly.
Mayweather isn't in his prime, if someone was to beat him they still beat the best fighter in the world, fact. It wasn't just the magazines that had them ranked so highly everyone did, where did you have Pacquiao P4P before the Mayweather fight? Pacquiao past prime? Yes. Pacquiao still the 2nd best fighter in the world only behind Mayweather going into the fight? Yes.
Mayweather beat the best and that's a fact.
Mayweather's prime has lasted 20 years.
In his prime, Guerrero was a featherweight.

In his prime, Floyd was a lightweight.
But you know, dude should fight GGG or he is a coward.

Exactly............
Guerrero is a much smaller man than Mayweather.
So was JMM - Floyd couldn't even make the catch weight for Marquez.
Floyd waited until the smaller Pacquiao was shot to fight him.
Hatton had to move up a division to fight Floyd.
If Floyd wasn't a coward, he'd be fighting GGG at 154 for his WBC belt in that division, instead of facing a bum like Berto.
Why would he fight giggi at 154 when he weighs 150

But when Guererro was a Welterweight you considered him to be one of the best 10 fighters in the world P4P.

Guerrero was smaller you say? :)
According to the World Boxing Council, WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (43-0, 26KOs) weighed in at 148.2-pounds on April 4th, as part of the organization's 30-day weigh-in requirement.
Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero (31-1-1, 18KOs) weighed in at 159-pounds when the WBC conducted their 30-day weight check.

It shouldn't be held against Floyd that Oscar was past his best when they fought. Here's the Ring top 10 list from 1998 to 2006:

Notice anything? Oscar was always several weight classes above Floyd. The only time they could have fought was 2006.
get out of here with those facts. We still havent recovered from that 10-2 Pacquiao loss and this sea water **** hasnt been helping our case. Give us a break ok.
