Who are some boxers who you consider mentaly weak....
imo
Miguel Cotto who folded under Margaritos pressure....
Well I'm already on Floyd Mayweathers case today and you mentioned mentally so absolutely there is not a guy more worthy of being put down on that list of mentally weak that Floyd Jr, the man actually waited 6 years to face someone!
Okay since I mentioned him I will mention other guys with a certain fighter in mention just to be fair/unbiased or w/e you wanna call it.
Deontay Wilder - Ducking - Alexander Povetkin
Gennady Golovkin - Ducking - Andre Ward (to a small degree)
Amir Khan - Ducking - Kell Brook (Could have fought him over Algieri no doubting that but obviously he was under the impression he was next on Floydettes list I however believe Khan will fight him in 2016)
Adonis Stevenson - Ducking - Kovalev
Some of those fights make more sense than others, the fight with Khan and Brook is one as a Khan fan I can't defend it really I'd love to see it being the fight made for late 2015 but I think Khan is still set in his way with trying to get Floyd that and the fact he likely doesn't give a **** what boxing fans want because so many of them are utterly disrespectful to him no matter what he does.
That guy on FNF earlier this year who was playing up a low blow - he fell to the canvas and started rolling around for what seemed like an eternity. The ref, the crowd everyone looking clueless while he laid there. that was some funny ****, I think it made Sportscenter Not-Top 10
Floyd Mayweather Jr. who couldnt hadle the welterweight pressure back in 2007 so he decided to retire. Also could not handle a woman so he decides to beat her up.
I'll agree that Ortiz had issues after his jaw was cracked, but I don't recall commenting on the Callazo bout in the manner that you mentioned.:boxing:
We did, you took it personal too. Wasn't his jaw broken against Lopez, not Collazo?
This might ring a bell, I continuously brought up the fact that Ortiz was conscious enough to evade the proceeding next two punches from Collazo.
Listing Cotto because of 1 fight is a JOKE
Victor Ortiz, Zab Judah. If those guys had to take the assault that Cotto took from Margarito they would sh*t themselves in the ring, before leap frogging outside the ring Kermit Cintron style.
Exactly who I was going to post. Would also add David Haye! The Toe excuses vs Wlad pathetic on top of what he pulled with Tyson Fury and finding a way out of that fight after talking tough
I don't think people know what mental strength is. When it is clear that the only thing ahead of you is a beating, continuing would be a result of your machismo; it actually takes mental strength to sacrifice your pride for the sake of your health.
That's not to say persevering through a beating is a sign of mental weakness. It is to say that it is entirely dependant on the circumstances of the fight and position of the fighter.
As far as I'm concerned, mental weakness is stepping into the ring with loaded wraps against an aged underdog. It shows a lack of confidence which, in the case of Margarito, was well placed in light of the pasting Mosley gave him.
Boxers are treated like slabs of meat. In any other sport, an athlete gets injured and people would clap them off of the field. In boxing, someone could have a broken jaw, nose and hand, whilst hobbling around with a concussion, and some schmuck would see fit to call him a quitter.
I just think that it's the nature of the sport. In boxing you also don't hear things like you do in others. When is the last time a boxer was referred to as 'choking' or not being 'clutch'? In sports like basketball they're used ad nauseam and they're essentially ways of calling people mentally missing something when compared to some others in that sport.
you are clueless as to how mentally strong those men had to be to even have made it that far, smh........:boxing:
Same guy who wouldn't admit Ortiz quit against Collazo, lets face the facts here, there are fighters who are mentally weak.
Cotto is one of the mentally strongest dudes in the game. Guys that took the punishment his taken quit the sport and never return to prime time so you are an idiot to think he is mentallt weak.
