It was an all round ugly fight with the way Lara ran but I had Canelo winning. And yes Lara RAN. That wasnt footwork, movement or defense. The man ran around the ring all night. Should have had his purse stripped for refusing to engage. That's what I saw too. Lara ran most of the fight like a thief who took Canelo's wallet and Canelo chased him hard and landed the harder punches. Canelo won on my card and it was an ugly fight thanks to Lara.
Definitely Lara. It was very close, I had it a draw. Lara won his rounds clearly at the start but was very inactive in the middle rounds. Trout was a good win too considering the fact that he was coming off of the Cotto victory. I thought he beat Trout clearly though his work rate was poor and made the rounds closer than they should've been.
That's the one that gets to me, Trout fight wasn't close. Although I had Canelo beating Lara I wouldn't have had a problem if Lara got the victory, that was actually very close.
That's how I feel pretty much. Except I thought Lara peeked out the W, or a draw would have been good. No clear winner in that fight. I think they should do it again at the risk of boring everyone.
Lara is his best win. Lara is the best 154 pounder in the world and the most of the top fighters like Mayweather and Cotto would not even consider fighting Lara. I thought Canelo won a close fight but even if you think Lara won, Lara is the best fighter Canelo ever fought and he is a damn good fighter. Trout clearly beat Cotto and Canelo beat Trout so Trout is his 2nd best win.
First of all..........
First of all, why would you start a thread about a young fighter who is constantly looking to fight the very best for us fans? Did that go over your head? Anyway, it doesn't matter who his best win is, because he is still young and chasing greatness. How about you asked who the BIGGEST named fighter he's fought? Then you might be impressed with what the kid is doing in boxing. His wins over Trout and Lara were CLEAR wins and good ones for his legacy. PERIOD. All of these excuses and haters saying he didn't beat Trout or Lara decisively is BULL****! He knocked Trout down and outsmarted him. He cut the running Lara over the eye with a single uppercut. He attacked his body and outpointed him with pressure and will. If Lara had tried to fight and actually WIN, he would've been KO'ed. Same with Floyd against Manny. If he had tried to really show who the better fighter was, he would've gotten stopped. Sometimes you have to be real and tell it like it is. Stop all of the in between scenarios that never happened. Canelo by KO on Nov 21st.
I don't want to say either Trout or Lara, because neither of those wins were decisive. I don't see how your biggest win can be that debatable
So probably Kirkland
Take away the kd and I thought Trout deserved a draw. With the kd it was 115-112. Lara is better than Trout slightly. I think Trout is underrated on this board because he looked so bad against Lara in a nightmare matchup.
I had Canelo beating Trout but if you looked hard enough you could probably find a way to score it for Trout, but it would be because you want to score it for him instead of looking at it objectively.
The Lara fight was close but i think Canelo won it. Lara just ran and danced and didn't have any intention of boxing for most of the fight. I enjoy a good slick fighter but that night he would have run a prime Haile Gebrselassie close in the marathon. Again if you did score for Lara or a draw there can't be any complaints but i think he did just enough.
At the end of the day, he's always going to get the nod in a close fight because he's Golden Boys cash cow now. They would have robbed Floyd and give Canelo the win if it wasn't so one sided, CJ Ross tried.
Lara and Trout. His wins over Kirkland and Angulo aren't worth a thing to me, but I was impressed with his wins over L & T; if he can pick up a win against Cotto, that will be another impressive win on his resume.
Feel that Golovkin will body him, but Alvarez picking up a legitimate win would be tremendous for the sport. It would be a superb win for a fighter who is only 25. Hopefully they have a competitive fight.
