This was back 2010 marking Canelo's first appearance in the US on Mayweather's undercard. Jose Cotto almost KO'd Canelo in the first round but eventually gets stopped in the 9th by Canelo.
This fight already has bad blood.
Dude Cotto got hurt bad by Trout and Floyd.
Canelo's kid chin is not the first chin that comes to mind for this fight.
Cotto did not get hurt by Floyd I'm so tired of this myth I wanna slap the person who started it. I don't remember him getting hurt by Trout either.
You have a strange idea of almost being KOed. Canelo was never off his feet. He got hurt by a good puncher who landed the perfect punch and followed it up with more good punches. His head was clear and he was back in control by the end of the round. He was a 19 year old kid then. That was 6 years ago and none of the hard punchers he has fought since then has ever even hurt him. Kirkland is one of the hardest punchers in boxing and he couldn't hurt Canelo. But if watching that video makes you think Cotto will win by KO then by all means enjoy it.
Getting stunned early in the fight as you warm up and size your opponent up has happened to a lot of people. Really doesn't mean anything. Plus he was a baby. That said, I don't know if his chin has really been tested. He does look sturdy.
He was hit by angulo and Kirkland and wasn't ever hurt. Tbh he seemed unbothered by both guys power. Cotto might hit about the same or a little less but cotto is a lot more precise with his punches and he knows how to wear you out with body punches.

Why don't you show the many videos of Cotto getting knocked on his ass by guys as light as 140 or the two videos of Cotto getting stopped like he will probably be stopped again when he fights Canelo? Canelo has never been off his feet in 10 years and 45 fights as a pro. He has fought guys like Mosley and Kirkland who hit harder than Cotto and they couldn't hurt him.

How you changed almost KD'ed, to almost KO'ed? big difference. Teenage Canelo was almost knocked down, he regained his legs almost immediately was not almost "KO'ed".
Although this was a few years ago, Canelo at that time was the next best thing out of Mexico, the Hype on him was big. he fought a D/C level fighter in Jose who gave him all he could handle when Canelo should have ran through him IMO but didn't. With that said, Canelo is a much better fighter and has grown tremendously as a boxer. Miguel will have his hands full and would need to bring his A+ game to beat him.
This was not Canelo's first appearence in the US stupid ass troll, and Canelo was not badly hurt or close to being KO'd either, go check your facts morron and suck a d*ck while you're at it.
Canelo was out on his feet and Cotto's bro had him hurt bad. Canelo was getting ready to spit out his mouth piece at one point.
I'm just stating some facts, no need to get butt hurt.
So can pro Canelo fans say that Trout beat Cotto and Mayweather hurt Cotto as well?
Hey dummy is that as bad as getting rocked by a 140 pounder who is a journeyman? Didn't think so!
I got to say this is a horrible thread :nonono: just horrible, mods please delete...this doesn't prove anything cause when Cotto hits Canelo he's not gonna rock him he's gonna drop him and No NATAS he wasn't 12 he was a grown man able to go and play paintball all by himself with no adult supervision
I remember laughing at first that he stumbled but then I got a little nervous because he looked dazed for second. Hadn't really seen him in tense situations like that. And then there was the times when Alfonso Gomez had him stuck on the ropes and he was trying to shoulder roll the whole time but kept getting caught, that was some decent action that made me laugh too
Thing is will Cotto press hard?
I highly doubt it, Cotto is boxing more but he isn't boxing better than the likes of Lara or Trout so yeah...
The ol' Canelo got rocked by l'il Cotto when he was 19, is getting a little old isn't it? He didn't go down and he ended up KOing Jose but that is considered great evidence of his vulnerability.
Miguel is in trouble because Canelo will be a lot better for this fight. This one won't go past 9. So it is written, Canelo's hand will be raised.
