Credit to Danny Garcia and Amir Khan. a lot of heart shown. Everyone was on their feet cheering - accept for Khan who couldnt seem to get his legs back. Other than that, fights like this is what makes boxing exciting, unlike boring hug, run, jab Floyd fights.
Fight honestly could have been stopped in the 3rd after he got hit...dude stumbled backwards across the entire ring
Yes, If the fight was to be stopped that's exactly when it should have been, If anything the fourth knockdown followed by the stoppage seemed so light in comparison to the first one.
Think Danny just simply had Khans number on that night, mind games and wrong tactics set by Khan forcing him to make it a war which he did.
should have let the fight go on to be honest
Agreed, watching it once again I can actually see what you're saying.
I seem to remember the knockout being MUCH worse I mean that knockdown before the referee stopping it wasn't even that heavy the first one now that was a BAD one for Amir Khan!
Interesting, I think Khan has got a little bit wiser since back then he'd certainly not be looking to bludgeon Danny face as quickly as possible.
I think Khan has unreal heart and will-power, as much as any fighter I have seen. He's one of those guys you really have to pin him to the floor, even against Prescott he was still trying to get up after the 10 count, its a shame he doesn't have a chin or a style to match his ambition.
In terms of the stoppage, rather safe then sorry. Even if you consider the time left in the round would have probably ensured that Khan would have made it out of the round, I feel it was a perfect stoppage because he got put over by a shot that would not have dropped him when he was fresh, he was vulnerable and it was a big risk to allow him to continue.
Good fight - made by Khan's stupid approach.
Garcia seems like the type that can go anywhere and not get noticed much or bothered
Cars in front of me kept honking their horn, that's what lead me to look to see who it was. I was shocked to see it was him tbh. I knew he lived in the burbs but I didn't expect to be in my hometown lol
should have let the fight go on to be honest
I sometimes think that too but then again, Khan fell the last time off a grazing blow. There was something wrong there.
But such a fun, exciting fight.
Crazy story, I went back to my adopted hometown a few weeks ago and saw him running down a side road prior to the Malignaggi fight. My niece told me she goes to school with his sisters and told me where lives in town now, I couldn't believe it.

I expect to see more of Khan doing his impression of baby giraffe having a seizure when he fights a half-decent puncher at 147.
lol...........wow this thread backfired

Naw that would not fit their agenda, they were not watching boxing then at all lets compare this to Floyd at 140
and of course
Floyd at 140 would probably stop Khan.

Amir Khan has one of the most ineffective guards when his bell is rung. He lets his opponent hook right around his hands and keeps himself in trouble.
Not to mention he's one of the few boxers I've seen who literally runs away, turning his back to the opponent when running away.
