Is Mayweather vs Berto an insult to our intelligence

I see it this way....If you're insulted then dont buy it. It's quite simple. Nobody is forcing you to buy this fight. I'm not.

I am a Mayweather fan, but in all honesty, this fight is an insult to any real boxing fans intelligence. Casuals will buy this fight because they have no intelligence about the sport. They wouldn't know that their intelligence is being insulted until they see the PPV on the credit card bill after the fact. Why do you think it is such an insult? DO you feel he owes it to fans to fight someone better at this stage of his career? Do you feel this fight isn't worthy for the best in the world?

fight isnt all that, im a boxing fan so ill be happy to watch it, people forget the ali they say is the greatest fought chuck wepner after he fought foreman, pac man fought rios and algirie, whack fights are not new to the sport... people just choose to set mayweather to a higher standard, it makes me wonder though, the majority of the posters here claim hes boring and they cant wait until he retires yet they go crazy and post about everything the man does. wierd if u ask me.

Who said this was going to one of his biggest PPV's? It won't be. It will still likely sell a decent amount though. You said people will still tune in due to him being undefeated. I'm only stating that the masses only tuned in when there was a legit threat to him coming from a fighter with a huge following. Will people tune in? Sure. I peg it at around 400k which is a good number but quite a disappointment given the fact he just did 4+ mil buys vs Pac. I still cant wrap my head around how Showtime approved an opponent that is guaranteed to leave them in the red once all is said and done. :thinking:

Well if they were saying it's a farewell fight for Floyd, on free TV then i wouldn't mind. Hes fought a lot of top fighters and even if he went and fought Khan now and beat him they would say "Khan struggled with Algieri", or Thurman "he was green", Brook "He's fought Porter and bums" etc... so in that sense i wouldn't care who he fought if it was billed as a farewell fight on free TV But trying to market this as a genuine fight is a joke and insulting the intelligence of the fans. Charging people to watch this is a kick in the teeth to those who have spent their hard earned money in the past making Floyd and his team very rich. If you're going to extract even more money from your fans, at least give them something worth paying for. I'm a fan of Floyd, he's a special fighter but this just criminal to charge for this. Well said.... I'm going to watch the fight the next day in protest if he doesn't care why should we the fans care...

I'm sure it's intentional. Floyd knows what his fans are. He's been around rich smart people long enough to know his customer base is from the gutter and at this point would probably pay $74.95 to watch him whack off on a rolex. He's by no means book smart but he's been around long enough to know his niche, God to the dumbest people in America. How do you think Vince McMahon feels about pro wrestling fans, all these morons who pay thousands of dollars to come to a homoerotic soap opera dressed from head to toe in John Cena socks, belt buckle, fanny pack? After X amount of years he probably just sees them as braindead insects and fantasizes about using them as target practice, tries to rip them off in increasingly comedic ways to amuse himself.

I won a lot of money from Filipino friends of mine. They bet with their hearts, And I took advantage of that.
