LHW is the best division in the sport right now in my eyes. I would totally cream for a Super Six between Kovalev, Stevenson, Pascal, Hopkins, Gonzalez, and Beiterbiev.
Heck to even make stuff crazier that'd be awesome if Ward moved up and took Hopkins place in that line up.
Elimination would be cool. I just like the fact that with the SS you go guys all agreeing to fight each up front basically. Sure it took a while but think how long it would have taken to get that many quality fights without it.
I agree more super six type tournaments needed, but like someone said in my thread about it, it needs to be elimination style.
kov Hopkins and pascal have all fought each other thankfully, yet have all been avoided by Stevenson. what a duck he is... unification with kov... nah... big hometown domestic fight with your fellow haitian Canadian pascal.. nah... have a living legend on your resume in Hopkins.. nah..
Stevenson should just **** off out of the division
Nah. Kovalev vs Stevenson just needs to be made. Hopkins is done. Great career but he was clearly out of his current depth against Kovalev last year.
They talk Kovalev and Ward fighting but I think that's probably 2 years away. Ward is going to wait around for Golovkin I'm sure, and the soonest that's happening is next year.
Whoever is in it, it needs to be a knockout style tournament, you lose, you're out. That round robin style is too long of a commitment and the tournament would eventually turn into a tournament full of replacements we don't care for.
I don't think one is needed, to be honest.
Kova has already smacked around Hopkins and Pascal.
Only fight that needs to be made in that division in the immediate future is Kovalev-Stevenson.
Not to say there aren't intriguing matchups with some of the names mentioned.
It may not be needed but there are some damn interesting match ups that can be made.
