Would Andre Berto Be Too Low-Level As A Comeback/Tune-Up Opponent For Manny Pacquiao?

Pac doesnt even need a tuneup in my opinion. Its not like he took any punishment in the Floyd fight. Once his shoulder is 100% I'd like to see him have a strong training camp and jump right into a fight with Khan.

Algieri is a much more horrible opponent than Berto so Berto would be a step up from Pacquiao's last W. This is absolutely true. I get hating on Floyd is a passion for some here on NSB, especially the TS,. Andre Berto may be nothing right now, but his nothing is much more than Algieiri at his apex.

Following his loss to Mayweather, if Pacquiao had chosen Berto as a comeback / tune-up opponent would you consider Berto to be too low a level opponent for Pacquiao to fight, or would he be about the right level opponent for Pacquiao to face in a comeback fight? Brandon Rios has probably been the worst fighter Pacquiao has faced in almost 15 years and even he was just a fight removed from being a world title holder and one the top guys at 140lb. Pacquiao doesn't really do easy fights, even when coming back from losses or injuries so yes, Berto wouldn't even be pn the Pacquiao map. If he does come back, I fully expect him to face Matthysse, Brook, Khan, Garcia, Crawford or Provodnikov at some stage in 2016. There won't be any Berto's or Ortiz's for him.

It's true, even Rios beats Berto comfortably and Algieri would school him pretty easily. Berto isn't a world beater but he's not a pushover either. What makes you think either of those guys walks through Berto?

Mayweather gave Canelo the opportunity, I want to see Pacquiao give a strong young fighter the opportunity. I guess the Bradley fight(s) never happened. But ofcourse Pacquiao will fight another young lion, he's always taking these guys' O's.

I can guarantee Manny will come back and fight a champion in a division or a top 5 guy if not #1 contender. Not some throw back journeyman club fighter. WAR BERTO doe... Like Mike Alvarado? Pac will not sack up and fight a true threat in his comeback fight.

His loss to Mayweather is to be taken lightly imo. He was not able to get off. He was hesitant due to Mayweathers counters. When he did get to Maywestger he was sharp and did some good work. Berto would get absolutely battered. Its not a good tune up for Manny. He doesn't need one, whether he was injured or not.
