rigo went from nothing to a top p4p fighter.
he went from an unpopular 122lber to "he out boxes anyone 126, maybe and even 130, too much skills"
now to answer my own poll, he WAS underrated, but NOW he is overrated.
why? because hes not untouchable like the majority of people claim him to be, and when he does get tagged, hes shown his chin isnt that solid.
is he good? yes of course. but do people priase him too much like a god? mmmm...
Rigo is right where he needs to be. Only retards think he beats anyone at 130 0r 126 though.
He's a small man, he's literally the same size as Gallo Estrada. Being able to move up in weight shouldn't be a determining factor to be considered at the top of the p4p list.
No fighter at 122 or 118(a weight he can still make) have a chance against him. The only threats for Rigoneadux are bigger men at 126.
Far from Overrated, I just think people are fans of other fighters at 122-126 and they trying to downplay Rigo because deep down they're actually terrified and really don't want their favorite fighter to have to get in with him. So people use all the negativity and trying to talk about what type of draw he is, talk about his style and how boring it is, they do the exact same thing to Ward. People go out of their way to try and get others not to like certain fighters just so fans won't call for that fight to happen
"He Is Not A Draw" "He Is Not The A Side" "He Is Boring"...Translation= "He would embarrass my favorite fighters so I hope he doesn't fight my favorite fighter and make me look stupid on Boxing Scene Forum after bashing one guy and praising the other and building him up as this great fighter"
PRIDE make you say and do silly things! I'm seen far too many fan bases on this forum literally disappear off the map after their guy loses which is why I always saying The Sport Of Boxing Itself Doesn't Have Fans, Only BOXERS have Fans!
Didn't rigo start at 118? I thought he started at 118 and moved up to 122... If not, then I stand corrected... Either way he still dominated a universally recognized p4p guy and reigning fighter of the year...
Rigo is legit and is p4p....
Like I said, name 10 better fighters with better wins...
Skills or wins, Rigo has most trumped
He fought in the amateurs @ 118. But yes, it's fair to have him at top 10 P4P.
what are you talkin about?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
donaire????? that was at 122.
donaire went up to 126 and got whooped back down to 122.
just so you know, 4lbs for a 122lb fighter vs 4lbs for a 160lb fighter is a huge difference... ALSO, he doesnt rehydrate that much at 122, so he shouldnt really have problems making weight 122.
.

Overrated because he won't challenge himself and go up in weight....like Andre Ward.
The dude is tiny. Not much of a frame to make going up easy. He's already ripped and muscular. Fattening up wouldn't be wise.
Going up in weight and beating a universally recognized p4p that was reigning fighter of the year... And not just beat him, he daddy'd the bigger guy...
Name ten fighters with better wins recently?

An upward swing of four (4) pounds won't slow him down that much and commonly he would gain that after a meal. Plus it may actually help him strength-wise to not worry about making weight for a fight.
In referencing a potential fight with Lomachenko - Lomachenko would have the natural weight advantage, because he routinely fights at that weight, but skill often overcomes a weight advantage. Here's where the edge is hard to gauge, because both are highly skilled.
IMHO, Lomachenko vs Rigondeaux is probably the most significant fight to happen in years because it is a hardcore fans dream match-up between two highly skilled fighters.just so you know, 4lbs for a 122lb fighter vs 4lbs for a 160lb fighter is a huge difference... and ok, before we look at loma vs rigo...
rigo has been tagged dropped hurt at 122 with a non puncher in amagasa.
u dont think a top 10 126er can finish him?
Overrated because he won't challenge himself and go up in weight....like Andre Ward.
i dont hate him for not going up in weight, his frame is TINY.
HOWEVER, waaaaaaay too many people are giving him waaaaaaaay too much credit/chance for dominating the 126 division when hes never been there. i respect him 100% and give me 110% credit for his reign at 122. but at 126 its a completely different story...
I'm sorry, but what? He was the reigning WBA Super Bantamweight Champ for several fights going into he fight with Donaire. How exactly was he going up in weight?
exactly.
Going up in weight and beating a universally recognized p4p that was reigning fighter of the year... And not just beat him, he daddy'd the bigger guy...
Name ten fighters with better wins recently?
Lol @ "daddy'd"
Very fitting.
Bullsh1t Floyd at 130 was way more aggressive then Rigo..stop comparing him to a 3 year old mayweather in his 4th-5th division
I thought I was tryng to distinguish them not comparing
Anyway. Sure floyd was more aggressive when the smaller guys where not as threatening as the 47's. Floyd is primarily a defensive first fighter. He will turn it up when not exposed a la Ortiz. Before that last time I recall floyd going for the kill was hatton.
Anyone comparing rigo to floyd is not disrespecting floyd relax. Both these guys are supburb.

Like hagler, tzsyu, hell hopkins feasted on blown up welters, and worse middleweights than Golovkin has fought til he was 40...
Are those guys overrated???
Rigondeaux is a hipster fan's wet dream come true. He's insanely talented but too hard to push due to his rather monotonous style, he has one great win and thus he's instantly an unsung hero, and he fights men with mysterious sounding names like Amagasa and Kokietgym.
Did I mention he's an undefeated defensive wizard and wears a gold mouthpiece made from his very own Olympic medals? Yeah, he's a bad ass like that. Oh, he raps too, which instantly propels him into some "boxing twilight zone" where he's too "hardcore" for little Timmy from Indiana too attempt to emulate him.
He is so talented, he is too small for his own weight division and yet could beat anyone from it up until 135, apparently.
Rigondeaux, the criminally overrated unsung hero.
Rofl, nice post.
I think Rigondeaux is given a little bit too much credit for his resume, but definitely not too much credit for his boxing ability. No one can beat him at 122, and he can trouble people at 126. I'd say a top 10 p4p is not complete without him right now, but top 3 no way.
Excited as **** for Loma/Rigo.
yes and in my sig. so? rooted for him before his pro debut.
this thread is not about him.
damn thats pretty cool haha.
fair enough, got heart. but will he be able to stand at 126 like people claim he can?

can you explain how he became a top 5 active p4p?

He melted his gold metals down and made them gold teeth..in Cuba they will take your gold medals....
damn thats pretty cool haha.
Rigo is a very small guy ... That stated, whenever he's been tagged (To coin the phrase) he always gets back up a whips azz like there's no tomorrow.
Just what you would expect from a Champion.

That aura comes from us having seen many more floyd fights. Further rigo can be a bit more aggressive where floyd rarely is. That agressiveness always leads to exposure and thus the spectre of getting caught with a good shot. As we have seen its hard to catch rigo. Same as floyd. To bad these guys are world apart I weight. It would be a specticAl for sure.

i guess i seen it enough to have the impression hes being given too much credit?
and seeing how the polls hes involved in when it comes to beating 126lbers are quite skewed.
how is this guy ranked top 10 p4p??
Dude you have Lomo in your avi
