I guess ask yourself if Whitaker would absorb 75% of Maidana's punches for the first 6 rounds they fought

He was "Sweet Pea" for a reason.
Pea by default
He was a southpaw.
While neither guy was a KO threat at WW, May was still wisely trading punches.
Also, I give May's opponents an edge over Pea's.
So May was in harms way more often.

Amazing
Both are/were great..but i say Mayweather because he counters better off of his defense and he has been able to do it over a longer period of time.
Holy **** larry, did you finally discover Locche?
Was he at his peak? No.
But let's not act like he was completely faded, either.
He beat Camacho after his 80th fight.
Neither of them were at their peak, the fight was at 147, both men peaked below 147.
They were both however still in their primes, if on the downside of it, but neither man was really showing signs of slipping yet.
defense alone? Floyd
whos the more versatile and better fighter overall? Sweetpea hands down
IMO
I know it's baby steps Puga but how long until you start posting on your real account?
Smh .....,........
Was he at his peak? No.

My bad! I misread. My mistake. Sorry!
Chavez was fighting at a high level AFTER 80 fights? Did you really just put that?

Are you making a case for or against him? In 48 fights that's all you got?
I don't give you credit on your resume for losing every round and nearly dying.
His heart and chin gets credit.
agreed
losing doesn't enhanced your legacy, winning does.
just look at Tyson, if had beaten holyfield and lewis(2 HOF fighters) his resume would be better and his legacy would be bigger.
Your resume consists of who you fought. And at 50 years old, Hopkins still stepping up to the plate against the most dangerous opponents he can find, and his defense still keeping him competitive.
naw its who you beat.
you can fight 10 HOF fighters in their prime, but it don't mean nothing if you lose to all of them.
