I was wondering this today. I know both men fought their fair share of world champions. But who fought more past/current champions? Floyd Mayweather or Mohammad Ali?

Floyd beat champions on the way out and on the downside of their career.. guys off layoffs and out weighed..
No comparison
On Ali's era there was only the WBC.... Now we have "4" main organizations.
Anyways, Prime George Foreman and Prime Frazier > Floyd's Resume
You are talking about arguably the best ever against floyd who is top 100 ATG
No contest......
ya'll DKSAB
Mayweather undefeated and Ali wasnt.
Prime Ali only lost to Joe Frazier..a fighter who usually cracks most heavy ATG TOP ten lists..Ali was a better puncher than Mayweather and had the speed of a lightweight..

Your seed finds no purchase in this rocky, barren ground.
Hard to say.
A reporter said Chavez and Mayweather were tied but that was quite a few years ago but I'm sure after research that wasn't correct. But I forget.
That was past/past/future world champions by the way.
Box rec says jcc is 18-4
You literally cannot compare them, not out of fairness to Ali, just because there's no formula for it. The number of champions has dramatically increased and we don't know who to consider real or fake.
It's like comparing a bank account in the '80s to one now without subtracting 70% for inflation. Your "winner" would just be an meaningless number.

Feel like making this kind of comparison is a bit apples and oranges. Much of his career was absent of the alphabet soup of titles we have nowadays. He beat several opponents that would easily crush today's heavyweights outside of Klitschko.
The numbers are probably pretty close, I don't know them offhand, but the quality is a bit onesided a discussion. Mayweather's resume is great, and probably would have only been even better in a different era.
Floyd has beaten the most world champions IN THE HISTORY OF BOXING.
Hard to say.

Can't fairly compare. World champions reproduce like rabbits nowadays. I've probably punched out some guy who was a boxing world champion without knowing it.
Not to mention the fact that Ali and his opponents only have one weight division title to pass around. Not like Ali could have stepped up and fought in a higher weight class lol
