I'm interested to know roughly the percentage of a promoters cut. I dont really have an idea, maybe someone here does?
It will help me work out how much extra money Mayweather makes from being his own promoter. Im just curious!
its 30%
every promoter takes 30%
managers generally take 10-15%
trainers take anywhere from 15-20%
and another 15-20% to run camp.
But to answer your question mayweather doesnt make more, he always been paid his gurantee and a percentage of PPV.
Him becoming a promoter doesnt magically add money to his deal.
He making a percentage off his fighters now though.
No no no
promoter gets 27-30%
Manager gets 10-15% sometimes more because they pay for the fighters camps and expenses
trainers get 10% or a flat fee
every fighter has a different figure. how stupid are you? pacquiao pays out 27% to bob arum, while timothy bradley only pays out like 10% with a high guarantee. not every fighter has the same contract:ugh:
This is not true bob gets 27 of bradley money the 10% that you're referring to is what he paid his manager Cameron dunkin. Bradley fired him and now he keeps that 10%
this is why everyone suggested pacquiao leave arum he has to pay him 27% and pay koncz 10-15% could be more. Pac is a big enough name to where he shouldnt need a promoter like floyd or cotto

Well promoters don't open their books so nobody truly knows how things break down as far as %. Promoters take no damn % the promoters are the ones who pay the fighters. Promoters make a lot of damn money off of successful events. Think about it if you give a guy his asking fee and you only have to give him a small % of the PPV Buys, it is no question that the Promoter walks away from that event with way more money than the fighter and it is not even close.
From the few promoter contracts I've read, they don't take percentages. They guarantee fighters a certain amount, and promoters get whatever is left over. Managers on the other hand usually take like 20% from the fighter's purse.

General rule of thumb is that the promoters takes 30% of the take, trainer generally gets 10%, and a manager gets 15%-20%.
of course, those figures change based on any one specific fighter-promoter relationship

Yes, I am just asking for a rough idea of a promoters percentage.
some boxing promoters just pay their boxers a flat fee per fight and they keep everything else earned, like tv, gate, etc.
you do realize all purses posted are before any deductions right? different trainers, managers, advisors, promotors, taxes....you really don't know what every fighter brings home.

Of course. Which is why I said 'roughly'. Come on man, read what I said.
Me asking what the percentage cut is crazy? I know he's the highest paid athlete, who doesn't. Did you read my question? I am asking for the figure.

your question is stupid. He's the highest paid athlete in the world. everyone already knows this. So he's making a lot more than anyone else.

It's the same. On fight night, he will earn more money because his cut is higher. A higher cut is losing less and earning more.your question is stupid. He's the highest paid athlete in the world. everyone already knows this. So he's making a lot more than anyone else.
he doesn't make extra being his own promoter, he just doesn't lose that percentage that would be paid out to a promoter.
