Golovkin and loeffler actually want to face oscar

:rofl: what a shlt show that would be "I have a great deal of respect for Oscar," Golovkin told ESPN.com on Monday night. "He was a great champion and a huge star in the sport. "If he decides to fight me, I'm ready as soon as possible. It would be another big drama show" De La Hoya stipulated that if he was to fight Golovkin, who has knocked out 20 opponents in a row, the match would have to happen at 154 pounds, not at 160, where Golovkin holds a title. Golovkin said he would be willing to make that concession in order to make the fight. K2 Promotions managing director Tom Loeffler, Golovkin's promoter, also said he would welcome the fight. "This would be similar to Sugar Ray Leonard coming out of his retirement to face Marvin Hagler and would be a very big promotion," Loeffler said.

The fight would do wonders for his career, but I guess **** him for trying to make a lucrative and successful career. Because Holyfield was deadly serious about fighting Wlad and had been obsessing about it for years. He was still refusing to announce his retirement past his 50th birthday because he was convinced that, if he just hung on a little longer, Wlad was going to fight him. He mentioned Calzaghe when he was still an active fighter, yes. He mentioned him after the Jermain Taylor fight because he'd been retired about 6 months. Not 6 years. And he barely mentioned him since as he was too busy fighting top level opponents back-to-back. They had a little Twatter banter recently but that was it. This was an official response to ESPN.com by Team Golovkin. Not the same at all. Of course its different. Itd be similar if retired Calzaghe started calling out Froch. Oscars name didnt cross Loefflers lips till Hoya said wanted Ggg as a comeback fight

Does ESPN have some authority over any other media outlet, is ESPN the official media source for boxing? Lol you're making it seems Golovkin held a meeting with Obama. Of course they would take the fight. Fighting Oscar would draw a good PPV number even way past prime and it would introduce GGG to the casual fanbase. From a marketing perspective it would be huge for GGG's career. It would pretty much eliminate any reasons for any future fights not to happen (Canelo, Cotto, Ward, etc.). Money would be no issue.

Floyd threw the names out there on a roundtable interview with the press. And Floyd is someone with a legendary career and money so who cares? Golovkin and his team are so money hungry that they would actually entertain this fight.
