Thanks for Bumping this thread! Day ONE Haney Fans this was back in 2015 damn can't believe it will be 4 years next Month and he is still only 20 years old :lol1:
Honestly, at this young age he looks too sloppy and is lacking in natural ability. There's nothing to suggest he'll get much further than fighting journeymen. The next Floyd/Roy is a laughable moniker.
I'm ready to fight for it #April9th #mgmgrand #Thedream #Newmoney #LetsGetIt A video posted by TheDream (@realdevinhaney) on Apr 5, 2016 at 12:21pm PDT
He's only 17. Hopefully he's guided well, still young so he should use those extra years for some extra experience.
True but it's not like hes fighting contenders or anything. Btw i'm judging him in comparison to Floyd/Roy not just a general world champion, i'm sure he can win world titles but i'm not convinced he is special like them.
This is his 3rd fight, skip to around 6:00 if you don't want to see the build up
Sharp body puncher and very fast. In the first round he had a similar stance to Floyd in his debut but as the fight went on his defence seemed leaky and he looked tired, maybe he struggles at the weight going by the start of the vid.
Roy and Floyd didn't get hit like that against that level of opp. Am i being too harsh?

Looks good hope he does well the sport needs another Mayweather/Jones.
Not going to comment on his skills as he is only young he has the potential to make massive developmental strides in the next 4 years.
In terms of speed he is more Andre Ward than Roy Jones.

Didn't they say the same thing about Broner? Then it was Imam, then it was Spence and now it's Haney. Heard it all before.
130/135 will be good weight divisions for the US in the coming years.
You have Hector Tanajara, Genaro Gamez, Devin Haney, Gervonta Davis and in the amateurs you have Carlos Balderas and Teofimo Lopez.
And I imagine Shakur Stevenson will end up in those weight classes as well. He'll probably start at 126, but he's pretty tall so he'll probably move up.
All those could be great fights. Of course we have to see how their careers develop. We can't predict the future.
evidently he'll be on the pac/bradley untelevised portion of the card
It's official
