NEW YORK — Paulie Malignaggi has publicly accused Manny Pacquiao of taking performance-enhancing drugs for years.
The outspoken Brooklynite recently tweeted his belief that Pacquiao is faking a torn rotator cuff to excuse his loss to Floyd Mayweather. Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach has had enough.
“He is talking his way into a fight but I don’t want to give it to him,” Roach told a small group of reporters Tuesday. “Manny will kill him. Oh jeez, give me a break. It’s like taking candy from a baby.”
Pacquiao suffered the injury in training for Mayweather before exacerbating the tear in Round 4 of their so-called Fight of the Century. The surgery was performed by renowned surgeon Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles, and Roach said Pacquiao will return to America in 30 days to begin rehab.
Malignaggi, an analyst for Showtime and former two-division champ, hasn’t fought since a brutal 2014 loss to Shawn Porter, but was slated to return last week before suffering a cut over his eye. He trains with Eric Brown, who works out of Roach’s Wild Card Boxing Club, but Malignaggi might not be returning to the Hollywood-based gym.
“He used to be a member of my gym, he used to be my friend, but the way he talks about my fighter, I don’t think he’s my friend anymore,” Roach said in frustration. “I take it personally, also. I told him don’t come to my gym.
“I told him, his trainer Eric Brown. I don’t want to tell (Malignaggi) face-to-face because I don’t want to get into a fight.”
Malignaggi, who competes at welterweight like Pacquiao, brushed off Roach’s comments and didn’t back off his stance in text messages to USA TODAY Sports on Wednesday.
“I haven’t trained at Wild Card since 2013, but the random drug-tested Pacquiao isn’t very scary at all,” Malignaggi wrote, adding that he maintains Pacquiao is faking the injury. “Suddenly, all his flaws become very obvious when he doesn’t have a ridiculous pace he can fight at that masked his countless flaws.
“Bring it on. Manny is home training right now, he’s not injured.”

ACNE LIKE A 14 YEAR OLD KIDWhat are you trying to infer? That USADA sucks? USADA did allow Floyd to rehydrate intravenously after the weigh-in.
it's amazing how far "talking" can take you and without actually doing much...beisdes sock stunts. Put aside whatever feelings you have for Manny or Paulie and really look at the idea of this fight objectively. Paulie has pretty much gotten beat every time he stepped up except for that Ukrainian dude whose name escapes me, i think Paulie was an underdog so he deserves credit for beating that guy. Otherwise he kinda sustained his relevancy post Cotto by talking, I mean what meaningful wins were there?
As bad as it sounds, and I don't want to advocate it, but this is a good case for "talking." Depending on how you use it, you can highlight and magnify achievements and perhaps convince a more simple-minded audience to think greater of you than they otherwise would have if you stayed quiet and didn't say, "look at what I've done, look at me."
It's rather intriguing, from both a psychological pov and even a technological, how easily people can be fooled...I mean imagine Paulie before the internet, in the 80s or even further back in the 60s...it makes you wonder.
PAulie is an idiot, Pacquiao is one of the toughest mofos in the game, the way he never sat on his azz when Margo throw those two back to back bodyshots shows his grit and he fired back too, Margo pressured Pac super hard the same way h did with Cotto, only difference is Pac didnt crumble
Ray Mancini even said if Pac hurt his shoulder bad it was during the fight but you have to give him credit for still fighting and not quitting on his stool. Mancini said if Pac only showed up for a check he would have thrown the towel in easy check. But he had and obligation to the fans to fight.
Look at Pacs shoulder you can see the deep red thats from the tear

thats what happens when hyou tear something. He had a small tear going in and Floyd ripped that sucker in the clinches, Floyd knew about it, the guy admit to having spies, dont believe it when he plays dumb, he also said he never watches videos of fighters, yet he said he wathed video of Pac and knows everything about him.
Another difference is that his gloves weren't loaded when he fought Pac.
I wouldn't give him the pay day. Let him continue trying to talk his way into a fight, while facing guys like Danny O'Connor.
It would be fun to see him beaten up though (again).
Roach is right though. It would be embarrassingly easy for Pacquiao.
If the vaunted punching power and pace has truly left Pacquiao (for whatever reason), Paulie Malignaggi out-hustles Pacquiao, boxing him to an 8-4 decision win, only for the judges to go the other way (Top Rank is going to wring out at least another three fights from Pacquiao).
Paulie going full Brigg$.
Never go full Briggs. Not happening.
Briggs shows up with no body guards yelling at THE HEAVYWEIGHT champion of the world, paulie just talks slick to cameras, then hides behind Al
Manny could beat Paulie with the sling on his arm and blind folded.
Paaalease Paulie, stick with commentating and leave your stupid outside comments about fighters that could do galaxy loops around you at home.

So you're telling me he has money for expensive steroids but not a cheap prescription of accutane?
Here's the thing, though:
Even if Manny walks right through Paulie and embarrasses him -- does Paulie still win? Paulie would get the biggest payday of his career. I mean damn, we're talking about a guy who was/is completely irrelevant in Malignaggi -- the dude was set to fight on a Spike TV undercard against an Irish pub bartender named Danny O'Connor before he pulled out due to injury. Seriously O'Connor was the 103rd rated fighter in the division, lmao.
And now if he somehow parlayed all the insults and defamation on Pacquiao...into his biggest payday?
Regardless of the fight result, even if Manny won every round or KOs Paulie -- in the end it would still be a massive win for Paulie. I would love to see Paulie get embarrassed (which would assuredly be the case if this somehow actually happens), but I'm starting to lean towards what Roach is saying and not rewarding him with this fight.
Let Paulie trudge on at the bottom of the barrel where he's fighting used car salesmen in the parking lots of Burger King's on the undercards of WGN cards. That's where he belongs anyway.
All of that, he should really sue Malignaggi because quite honestly, he deserves it. Probably moreso than any other fighter who has made accusations against another in this sport.
Pacquiao's career had nothing to do with Malignaggi anyway, he was never in line to fight Manny. He was just emasculated by Pacquiao destroying the guys who comfortably beat him and couldn't contain his inadequacy.
