They're all turning into Prima donnas. No one wants to earn their stripes anymore, they want to take easy fights but get mega-credit and mega-payday's.
I will say that there are a few that show promise, longevity and a willingness to fight anyone, so all is not lost.
They are getting paid good money much earlier now. Can't begrudge it, but it turns 90% of them into non competitive whiners, like a Berto for example who made $1.5 m fighting a bum, who i can't even remember now. This is where you have to hand it to the likes of Cotto, JMM, Floyd and Manny. The money doesn't turn off the desire to keep training and fighting.
I think Cotto beats Floyd in the rematch, but I just want to see Floyd in a competitive fight. That's all it comes down to, Cotto is really the only name that Floyd would potentially fight to make an entertaining fight. So that's why I want to see it, competitive and entertaining.
I tend to agree, but Cotto isn't at 54 still and 60 is a stretch for Floyd. He's be giving Cotto a huge advantage agreeing to fight him at 60. I'd like to see Thurman. Alot of Cotto about the way Thurman fights, but i think he moves better, or more accurately is more conscious about moving. Cotto is actually pretty smooth when he gets on his bike, he just doesn't do it when he should.
You are right, my bad. I forgot that floyd only cherrypicks fights after an opponent is vulnerable due to age or by being battleworn.
Yeah, cuz Canelo, Maidana and Ortiz walked to the ring with canes and Floyd was 21 when he fought them. Your hatred is unbelievable.
I would love for that fight to happen but the only kicker is Cotto's mandatory contractual obligation to HBO in challenging Canelo in September could prevent it from ever happening. That is unless of course he decides to breach his contract with them and scoop back over to Showtime and challenge Mayweather for that same title. However, in any case Gennady Golovkin is the mandatory challenger to the winner of Cotto's next bout after Daniel Geale; that is if he is victorious or decides to vacate the belt altogether.
Only a Mexican would say this,, cotto arguably lost 7-5, 8-4,,, canelo and Marquez lost every round as well as Guerrero
Cotto only outlanded Mayweather in 1 round (8th). All the other rounds Mayweather outlanded Cotto in total and power punches. Mayweather won the majority of the rounds, the thing is the rounds that Cotto DID win he did some damage. So he did make it a physically tough fight but it wasn't competitive when scoring by the rounds.
Toughest fight my ass!!! Cotto got spanked, money may almost stopped that fool no need for a rematch!!! Im keepin it 100, money may should fight glovekin and outbox that ass!!!!!
Back already....
it is miguel cotto.....he gave floyd his toughest fight since his return besides maidana

as long as cotto vacates the mw belt first i see no problem
floyd winning a fake middleweight title from cotto who heroically defended it against geale at a catchweight while the actual MWs are simply ignored would be incredibly sad day for boxing
Anyone who thinks Mayweather-Cotto is a bad fight either didn’t watch the first match or is just a hater of one the fighters for some childish reason.
Most people who likes either fighter will tell you its one of the best fights by both men because of what they brought out each other. It was neither's best performance, though...
Why would people would like to see Floyd’s final fight against yet to prove fighters Brook, Garcia, Thurman or Khan (ffs) ?? He just out-classed another ATG, seriously…
Go out with a fellow HOFamer and a chance to win a belt in another weight division.
It's about styles...and Khan is a leading welterweight, whatever you say. Plus he has the size and speed advantage, how many guys can you say that about?
In all honesty, the most relevant fight at 147 would be against Bradley, the only none Pac/May entrant in the p4p list who fights at 147.
Now, if Mayweather wants to go up to MW, why not fight a genuine middleweight, not some clown who has won and will now defend his title at a CW below the mw limit? lol
I've always wanted to see a rematch. Cotto did very well, even though he was with Diaz and still had Landmen as his S&C coach. I think the Cotto of old, with Uncle Evagelista would have been an even closer fight than the first, with Cotto possibly getting the win.
Now, Cotto with Roach is even more formidable IMO. This will be a great rematch and I am in the boat with those that want to see it happen. Let's hope Cotto looks spectacular against Geale and gets the rematch with Floyd next. There will still be a Canelo fight afterwards, so there is no loss there. Canelo can just man up and fight middleweights now. It would be nice to see him in with GGG, but Oscar won't let that happen in the near future.
