Oh word? "Sergio likes to hit and not get hit..." In other words, Sergio is a professional boxer..."
Damn, Nelo is a savant with the subtle ducks. "Sergio not a good style for my fans but Floyd would be great!"
" I gave Cotto a deadline and did not meet it so I will give my fans...Kirkland."
Ducking is an artform. The best are subtle with it... Canelo p4p.
You still missing the point to my original comment, the point of the original thread is...If He Fights Sergio Martinez back in 2012 Maybe He Does Better Versus Mayweather and Lara:
This wasn't a discredit to Canelo in anyway and if it came off that way then I'm clearing it up now and saying that was no my intent. I just think (MY OWN OPINION) the thing of picking opponents based on STYLES, you can only do that for so long. Then eventually what happens is that your fans will start to call for you to fight the other guys that other fans are saying is "Better Than You" and that is exactly what happened. Canelo wasn't doing Lara a favor by fighting him Canelo fans started to get on him about fighting Lara then Canelo PRIDE took over and I give Canelo major respect for stepping up and taking on the challenge. HOWEVER, it doesn't stop at Lara and Mayweather and that somehow gives him a past for the rest of his career. Once you reach that top it becomes about who ever is next up in your Division REGARDLESS of their styles
That's where the confusion began, because I didn't see the original post (purpose of thread) like you did. To me the original poster was basically saying that Canelo ducked Martinez. Posting a video where Canelo said his team didn't approve of his style, thus making it seem like a duck (I stated previously that another poster posted an article in spanish, where Canelo said he's willing to face Martinez-article is two months after the video); btw unlike what what the poster said Canelo made no mention of a Mayweather fight in that video. What you're suggesting: fighting Martinez first (2012) will get him prepared for Mayweather is kind of irrelevant to the topic (because it has nothing to do with Mayweather), although I know what you mean. So when I saw your comment, I thought you were just saying that Canelo has not fought and will duck slick fighters for brawlers. I just replied with what you saw.
It's also unfair though to suggest that Canelo will not fight anymore slick fighters, because like I stated previously we can't tell the future and he has already fought some slick fighters (so he's willing if the fans want). So of course, it won't stop at Lara or Mayweather, but again we can't expect him to fight slick fighter after slick fighter, tough fight after tough fight; his team will definitely feed him some easy opponents from time to time (to make his fans go crazy from a knockout like against Kirkland). As long as the fights can get made, I think Canelo will take the challenge. For now, Cotto is the big fight for him, so obviously that's what he is chasing. Another thing I've mentioned is the politics of boxing, we as boxing fans don't like it but the thing is they are there. It will obviously prevent some fights from happening. So, Blaming a particular fighter for a fight not happening, when it's probably not his fault is wrong (they shouldn't be automatically called a ducker, we need the details first).
The original post (poster) made us misunderstand each other, luckily I know spanish so some of what he wrote in the original post is false (at least not stated in that particular video). We just have wait and see what happens.
Selling out arena's with Floyds name as the headliner... Canelo vs Martinez is a pointless fight pre-Mayweather.
Are you that dense? He sold out mgm the same day Chavez/Martinez fought in the same city and drew one the highest ratings of the year for showtime. He also sold out staples in a separate venue card with Floyd/Ortiz. So it was pointless financially for Sergio's side?
So Canelo wasn't a big enough name for Martinez to even consider negotiating? :lol1: A guy that was selling out arenas and drawing huge ratings on network tv wasn't worthy of Sergio's time in negotiations lol
Selling out arena's with Floyds name as the headliner... Canelo vs Martinez is a pointless fight pre-Mayweather.
What point are you trying to make then? You're original post had nothing to do with the thread. All I read was you trying to discredit Canelo, implying that he wouldn't fight any slick fighters (When he has!).
I actually hit you with some facts and you're just coming here trying to say things that were not even part of the argument in the first place. You keep switching everything up. First it was Canelo not wanting to fight slick fighters, then it was big fights and now it's about styles.
I want to see big fights as well!! But again the point you're trying to make does not make any sense, because it keeps switching. I mean, what's the purpose? I originally replied to you to show that Canelo has indeed faced slick fighters (remember that was you're original post).
So what you're basically saying is that the top guys are going to avoid certain type of style (slick?). Canelo sure hasn't avoided many of them, who has he avoided? I remember people saying he was ducking Trout, then fought him. Soon after the Mayweather fight, he was all of the sudden avoiding Lara, he fought him almost immediately. People were trying to make it sound like Canelo was avoiding Lara for years, when the talks for that fight didn't start until after the Mayweather fight (before Mayweather he was supposedly avoiding Trout). Who do you want him to face? I mean you can't expect him to fight slick fighters all of the time (What other fighters are there that are ACTUALLY realistic?) Who do you want GGG to face? (Also a reminder, most of these "slick" fighters are with Haymon, so probably won't happen due to obvious reasons). Who else is out there?
Can you blame Canelo for chasing Cotto right now, when it's one of the biggest fights that can get made. Big money for both. Canelo is 24 years old, how do you know he will avoid certain styles in the future? When we haven't seen the future (because in the past he has faced them). Like I said previously, you also have to keep in mind the politics in boxing (we don't like them but they are there!). For example, fans can keep saying that GGG is avoiding Lara. But the first thing to remember is that Lara is with Haymon, who doesn't associate himself with HBO!! (don't bring up Mayweather/Pacquiao because that fight was big money, that's why they worked together). What other slick fighter is there at 154/160 (where Canelo and GGG currently fight in) for them to fight that CAN actually get made.
I complimented you before telling you that I could tell you're a smart poster, but I can't see you're purpose here, man. We just have to wait and see if Canelo avoids slick fighters in the future, for now what we do know is the past and the past shows that as long as the fight can get made, he's willing to fight these tough match ups.
It's not Canelo's or GGG's fault that politics will get involved with some of these match-ups.
You still missing the point to my original comment, the point of the original thread is...If He Fights Sergio Martinez back in 2012 Maybe He Does Better Versus Mayweather and Lara:
Avoiding styles is only a postponement for failure in the long run because you will have to get in with a stick and move type of guy again eventually. You won't be able to spend your entire career fighting flat footed sluggers and expect people to consider you "GREAT". A truly great fighter can find a way to defeat ALL STYLES not just flat footed face first Brawlers like Angulo and Kirkland

You stumpy f**kin' retard,.
Do you have any videos of you fighting any type of fight???
It's funny cause a lot of them hay hat wearing people are actually hard workers and don't mooch off the food tickets/food stamps like people do. Should hard workers really be called peasants or something similar?
That's why i dont get into that when they get into it :lol1:
and no they shouldn't. But I think that whole peasant thing started with a, lets say, a poster who favors mexican fighters ( I cant remember who exactly) was saying something about Cotto not being a "king" cuz kings dont go down to a knee and what not...
So then Martinez should have fought an undercard fighter? That's my point. Canelo is getting credit for calling out the MW champion before even fighting a JMW. What a joke lol.
So Canelo wasn't a big enough name for Martinez to even consider negotiating? :lol1: A guy that was selling out arenas and drawing huge ratings on network tv wasn't worthy of Sergio's time in negotiations lol
one thing is "racist" and another is "prejudice". Two completely different things. Now if he were saying, "*******s" or words to that order... than yea I would... but... just in case no one knows...
in Puerto Rico there are peasants as well... they just have a different name.
Correct. Peasant is NOT "racist." Peasants come in all colors and sizes. Some say it's a kinder pet name when compared to the usual "island rats" and "Simios"
Crusha Dictionary:
Peasant: (Noun) One not rich in all things pertaining to intelligence. A poverty of the mind... Simple...Dim-witted.
This was before the Mayweather fight, like a year before actually. He still fought Cotto after multiple losses what's your point?
So then Martinez should have fought an undercard fighter? That's my point. Canelo is getting credit for calling out the MW champion before even fighting a JMW. What a joke lol.
So basically Canelo said "After I got my ass beat by Floyd I want Martinez." No wonder Sergio said no, he'd get no credit for beating him.

have you ever reported peasant, since you are so sensitive and all that...

I told you before, you ignorant peasant that doe has only one meaning and that is a female deer. The word that means what you mistakenly think doe means is THOUGH. Get a dictionary and keep it beside you when you post here. It will explain to you what different words mean and how to spell them. So you think it's very funny to trash Canelo. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! But somehow you don't think it's funny to trash that moon walking, back peddling, running, knee taking, GGG ducking Cotto. Enjoy yourself while you can funny boy. When Canelo chews up Cotto and spits out the pieces you will have to quit this board since apparently the only reason you joined was to praise Cotto and trash Canelo and GGG.
Thanks man!

I actually find it funny they would criticize Cotto for fighting Geale, but are ok with Canelo fighting Kirkland :nonono:
Bias is funny that way. They spin anything "Canelo", into some display of utter bravado. "He walked away from negotiations with Cotto like a warrior doe!"
your point is.....? he still fights the same way and gasses out still. You saying his chin magically got better? You do realize Miguel Cotto punches ALOT harder than older cotto?
In fairness, Canelo has a very, very solid chin now.
I used to question his chin when he was younger, but as he has gotten older he has filled out a lot and the difference is night and day. Physically, he's a big guy with a very thick neck and it has made a big difference.
Proud of plasters huh?
I still don't get how idiots such as this one defend plasterito as if he did something great.
Deep down, they know. Their petty ways just keep them from ever saying it publicly. Margarito's eyes (no pun) tell the story and the profound shame is is evident. He is slowly but surely, shedding his tough guy exterior and becoming softer as if to finally come to terms with it all. We see the layered hair and the unisex eyewear. He is shedding that Capetillo creation...That painful lie and moving closer to a softer reality with every passing day. I wish him a healthy transition to who he has always been in his secret heart.

do you think that knocking out a 24yo is just as easy as knocking out a 19yo?
thats my point...
and by the way, canelo went 12 full rounds on a marathon chasing lara, and his stamina looked just good going into the 12th round...
:pat::pat:
Exactly... he HAS and looked HORRIBLE. Didn't win ONE ROUND vs floyd, got a gift vs lara ( I had it 8-4 for lara. 7-5 swing round)
seems like canelo looks "great" when he has someone that's just standing right in front of him .... kirkland and angulol for example.
if you missed that point that he made :bottle: go learn some proper english.
In his original post he was implying that Canelo will not fight slick fighters, but he has. He was trying to say that Canelo will avoid slick fighters but he has shown that he's willing to fight slick fighters, because he already has.
Whether he looked bad against them or not is another story because that was not the original argument. Or where did I say he didn't look bad against them? Julio Cesar Chavez was not even being discussed.
