Malignaggi said something like "Dirrell is one of the most athletically gifted fighters he's ever seen" but in the aftermath of Degale vs Dirrell, where Degale was able to match and often outdo Dirrell for speed, footwork, movement, defense, offense, could Degale be even more athletically gifted? And what about the inactive Ward? How about we throw Froch and Groves in for good measure.
Dirrell Easily! DeGale is second, I been posting all last week that Dirrell vs DeGale is 2 of the best athletes in the Division and their styles mesh well together and it did
ward and wlad both anticipate when their opponent is about to throw a punch and hold them before they can do it. its brilliant stuff. their opponents must want to throw a lot of punches!
ward's holding is overstated by people who really don't understand boxing.
ward is one of the best inside fighters in boxing. he has relatively short arms at SMW. he tries to keep his hands free inside and work. watch the fights.
that doesnt' mean he's a better athlete. ward's vision is much, much better than dirrell. dirrell reacts. ward anticipates.

I've watched enough of them to say that it's better.

speed and pwoer are teh basic components of talent in boxing.
it's andre dirrell. it's not all that close.
froch is strong mentally and physically.
ward is strong mentally and has great, great craft. also has very solid upper body movement and handspeed. he outmuscled froch on the inside, if you recall.
groves is a decent athlete with decent power.
That's bold.
I don't wanna bitching about it but why you see on this way?
I think DeGale is solid, agile and technical but Ward is on an other level and would beat him with ease.
I'd say they're on the same talent level as well. Both are quick and strong, but neither is exactly a dynamo athletically the way Dirrell is.
Difference being, of course, that Ward is among the most skilled fighters in boxing. Ward certainly is gifted, but not exceptionally so. He is so much better than others because he is remarkably well schooled and intelligent in the ring. Whatever people think of Virgil Hunter overall, he's done great things with Andre Ward.

Better was perhaps not the right word, but I'm saying it pertaining to the topic of athleticism, and you're claim that Ward's upperbody is faster or more flexible is pretty retarded, unless you haven't actually watched Dirrell.
Stop. Wards upper-body movement is nowhere near Dirrells. Ward's body movement consists of a simple; bend over.

I added "and in doing that he still gets his punches off very fast". That's athleticism, I could also bring up the fact that Ward's upper body movement is visibly faster than Dirrell's, certainly more flexible.

DeGale didn't hit his peak (still improving), but the things he does are impressive so far.
He is not the quickest, strongest or hardest punching boxer, but many things he does, he does exceptionally well.
First, his sense of space and timing are second to none. He was boxing Direll (very fast boxer) with his hands way down for most of the fight. He timed Direll perfectly (although DeGale might be slower than Direll).
Variety of his punches inside or outside is outstanding. He can hit you with pretty much every punch from the book.
He is very tricky, atypical in the way how he does things. It's almost impossible to read him.
He is one of the rare fighters who can box inside just as well as Ward if not better.
I hope we get to see DeGale-Ward. I am not saying that DeGale would necessary beat Ward, but I guarantee you it would be Ward's toughest fight. If DeGale keeps improving as he is doing right know in a year or so, it's 50:50 fight for me (and that's if Ward is still at his prime).
I take DeGale over any other SMW right now, as against all LHW apart from Kovalev. I also think he beats Golovkin.
Okay, I understand and respect your opinion, I don't necessary share it though. I think Ward would beat him, not 50-50 but I also think that if he will continue to improve he will be a problem to everyone.
Ward's toughest challenge? I don't know yet, I'm not convinced that he is better than the prime Froch and Dawson was also looked very good when he fought against Ward. But maybe the future will tell us if you're right.
The things you have listed are skills in my opinion. Ok to close a gap quick you need fast feet, but most of everything there is skill, pivoting well is a skill, finding angles is a skill.

Probably Direll. He is very fast both feet and hands + he is a big man.
Talent wise, Ward and DeGale are in the same category.
Froch has a biggest heart and determination.
Groves used to have a trainer who got him to his maximum.
That's bold.
