Murata is making his debut against the guy who KO'd Drian Francisco in one....Drian is the guy Rigondeaux is about to fight.
Hell of a debut
If Drian does the impossible and Maruta handles Canoy...would we then have to consider the teenager a top pound for pound fighter? Lol
You have forgotten 2 more fighters.
Naoya Inoue most importantly. And Roman Zhailauov.
They debuted BEFORE Lomachenko, think the point was that after Lomachenkos debut there have been some exciting fighters who are already mixing at a high level.
Both debuted back in 2012
Funny to think of some of the folk have debuted since Lomachneko-
Ken Shiro
Takuma Inoue
Kosei Tanaka
Diago Higa
Denys Berinchyk
Oleksandr Usyk
Dmitry Bivol
Egor Mekhontsev
We're heading to a very exciting era of boxing!

Shame to think that if Maruta was an American debuting at the level he's starting his career...fans would be all over it...as he's Japanese its only a handful that have an interest and I suspect 90% only know about him due to that asian boxing site.

I think very highly of Usyk (IMO the future of the Cruiser and Heavy division), but for some reason I'm more excited about this kids debut. Probably because I've been hearing about him for a while.
Japan, Kazakhstan and Eastern Europe (Ukraine, Russia and a few other countires; Kazakhstan is technically not a European country) are producing the best talent right now.
The Japanese fighters turn pro early though. Compared to Ukraine, Russia and Kazakhstan, where they will turn pro later or not turn at all. It's a shame, to see talent go to waste.
Japan is producing amazing young fighters right now.

Look at these Japanese youngsters coming through all at once, what an amazing time is must be to be a Japanese boxing fan.
Not only is he tall, but he also just turned 18 this year. I'm guessing he'll end up fighting for the belt at 122 first or he may win a belt at 118 first and then move up immediately.
I hope this kid is as good as they're hyping him out to be. My most anticipated debut since my favorite fighter Lomachenko.

No, but the contracted weight for the Canoy bout is 53.9KG's (118.8lbs) so it'll be Bantamweight by the looks of it. He's a tall kid for the weight (173cm apparently) so not sure who long he'll be at Bantamweight though

Did they say what weight he'll fight in? Super Bantam or Bantam?
I mean for his first Championship run.

At the press conference today his team have said they want to win a JBC/OPBF title in 4 or 5 fights and a world title in less than 3 years...sounds ages away but he'll just be 21 by then O_O. Sounds like the speed records were "talk" but still...incredibly ambitious

These Japanese kids don't play around. He's turning pro at Super Bantam and facing a guy ranked at Bantam. I wonder if he'll move down to Bantam when he's ready to challenge for a title. Either way there will be no easy titles, except maybe the WBO at Bantam. It'll the most impressive thing if he could dethrone any of those Champions in less than 10 fights.
I was going to post on this thread a few days ago, but for some reason I couldn't find it.
WAR Hinata Maruta!!
Maruta will debut against Jason Canoy (who is ranked by both the WBC and the IBF) on November 22nd at the Sumiyoshi Ward Centre, Osaka

I've been interested in watching some of these guys, but been too lazy to search them out. It's a shame we don't televise any of the higher end foreign fights.
they already go to the orient but they sign the russian first, but they been signing more and more "asians" sort of speak. Look at what top rank is trying to do out in maccca
Haymon needs to go more in to the Asian Market. All I think he has is Tomoki Kameda.
