Froch and Calzaghe recently had some Twitter beef. Calzaghe said Degale would beat Froch, then Froch replied by saying Joe ducked him years ago.
Things might be reaching boiling point again between the pair and while Joe has been retired for 7 years, a fight between them would still surely generate a large amount of interest since Joe has remained in the public eye on and off over the years, he's still a known personality and his achievements are widely recognized.
A fight which would almost certainly result in large paydays for both fighters. Could it even be Wembley material with a 40k + crowd? Perhaps not, but would do you think - do you want to see Calzaghe come out of retirement for 1 fight and face a slightly faded and battle-worn Froch?
I did a quick check and Joe s 43 years old and hasn't fought since late in 2008. He would be crazy to fight Froch now. He has a better record than Froch and that will never change.
I voted no. I consider Calzaghe the better fighter but he is much older I think although I am not sure on that. Anyway he has be retired for a long time. Why should he risk his perfect record by coming back and fighting the still active Froch and give Froch such a huge advantage?
You just bolstered the value of Calzaghe's win over Hopkins.
did you see that fight? that "win" has no value since he couldn't even hit hopkins clean. let me guess clean punches don't matter? great boxing fan here
Joe's hands were GONE on his last few fights. If being retired for several years and 40-some years old wasn't enough reason not to come back. How about Tyson and Lewis, hell, why not sugar Ray? Bring em all back!
Only if he needed the money. Likewise for Froch.
The money would be huge, but Calzaghe is the only one who has something to gain, legacy wise. Froch beating Calzaghe, who is 43 and has not fought for 7 years would do pretty much nothing for Froch.
Calzaghe is a middle aged man of 43 years. Joe has been retired for 7 years. Idiotic thread.
Bernard Hopkins the man Calzaghe robbed is still fighting at top level at 50 years old Slappy sniffed too many lines, drunk to much chased too many skanky ho's in retirement. put him out to grass in the Rhonnda Valley:bottle:
**** off with that; Joe has been retired far too long to come back and fight a world champion. He would need a couple tuneups and to even know if he can hang at this point, and for what? Beating Froch would add little to his legacy.
Look at what happened to Ricky Hatton. Completely unnecessary.

Slappy hasn't got the cojones Don't forget he "retired" when Bernard Hopkins offered to fight a rematch in Wales. Slappy knew he got a gift that night against Bernard.
This is one of those fights that should've happened like Hatton vs Khan. I don't think CalZagz needs to come out of retiremen.
It's too late, its kinda like asking if we would want Lewis to come out of retirement to fight Wlad of course we would, but we wouldn't really give a real chance to CalZags or Lewis to win those fights, or at least I wouldn't.
At the time Calazaghe retired as planned, Froch still wasn't that well regarded.
Dawson was the other whom he supposedly should've faced and the new king.
There's always at least 'one more guy'.
And this...Very true. There is always somebody else to fill the gaps left by fighters who have been built up to fight big names. A fighter becomes big enough for people to demand fights, even if they take and win those fights, new guys fill the gaps before too long.
Nah. I would bet good money that it would result in a loss. It rarely EVER goes well when a top fighter comes back after retiring due to age or how much they are worn. If they 'retire' for a while while they are young enough to be inactive and still be effective upon returning, like Ali's exile for example. But when they recite due to being worn down or too old to continue it never goes well. Look at Hatton's comeback.
Now Joe may not have been shopworn or TOO old, but he was at the end of a long career and has been gone a long time...It would not go down well, vs Froch or otherwise.

joe fought shot jones jr so its warranted to say he should have fought someone better. especially with his crap resume.
