Official PPV numbers are always hidden but Bob Arum says in an interview he knows the official numbers. UFC has never done over 1mill ppv buys in reality(they claim to have about 7times)

I have heard of McGregor but not Aldo TBH. A fight that breaks 2mill has to be one of those fights where the two combatants are known outside of the MMA circle and are internationally known. It has to be two guys who have surpassed superstar status.

What has this thread to do in the NSB section? Come on, it's not that hard to separate boxing and MMA. UFC 189 will never do 2M PPV buys! Who projected those numbers? And UFC 187 will never do 1.5M. You need pretty strong crack to come up with those numbers. What has McGregor done to be #3 at featherweight? Beat#5 Porier and #10 Siver. Hardly impressive, when you have Chad Mendes and Frankie Edgar at #1 and #2. McGregor talks, that's all. As soon as Aldo puts some leg kicks at him, it's over. The thing I like about the UFC PPV's is that Joe Rogan actually knows what he's talking about, unlike guys like Lampley in boxing.

Seems like there's a lot of buzz around it. A lot of the same non-fight people I know who were talking about Pac/Floyd are talking about Mc/Aldo now. And yeah it will probably be a better fight (that's not saying much). It's definitely not Pac/Floyd level but might do Floyd/Cotto numbers.
