Also Froch came to the US fought Prime Taylor, Ward and also Fought Dirrell in Nottingham. Joe on the other hand stayed away form Prime Roy Jones and B-Hop and also wanted nothing to do with young Lions at the time like Chad Dawson So Froch>Calzaghe ALREADY!

GGG is not a small MW. He's a CAREER 160lb fighter. Ya'll sell that lie because it's an excuse for him not to challenge himself and take risks against bigger fighters. Small MW's are the ones that moved up from lower weights. Like Cotto. Cotto is a small MW. Canelo would be a small MW A middleweight at 5'10" is not small. I have never seen a small MW come in at 173lbs on fight night. That's such a big lie. Small MW my ass. If you're rehydrating 13lbs from your weight class, you are not small, that's actually pretty heavy.

What does this guy need to do, he's fought the murderers row of an epic supermiddleweight division with all the fighters in and around their primes, If Froch fought Calzaghe's resume exactly the way he fought them he would be very likely be undefeated also. Would Calzaghe be undefeated if he fought Dirrel, Pascal, Ward the like back to back to back. Anyway this thread is if Froch fought Golovkin next and beat him/stopped him, would that finally put him undoubtedly above Calzaghe, as Golovkin is considered a potential GOAT at the moment?? In my opinion he is well past calzaghe. Joe fought mostly at european level until he scored some nice wins late. Froch has had some serious competition throughtout his career...

Kessler also fought that fight with a broken hand. I think it's extremely uneducated to say Calzaghe didn't have desire to cement his legacy. Couldn't be further from the truth. His hands were basically fuked by the Lacy fight and he shouldn't even have fought that fight! Still went on to face the likes of Kessler and Hopkins after - not to mention Jeff Lacy who was supposed to be Mike Tyson of the supermiddleweights. He was a world champ for something like 8 or 9 years before that Lacy fight, who did he fight? I'm actually a Calzaghe fan and think he beats a lot of top fighters head to head but it counts for nothing if you don't find them. So Between around 1997 and 2005, he was a world champ then but there's a massive void of good names on his resume between these years.

Its a really weird/tricky debate this for me. On one hand Calzaghe is simply a phenom boxer. One of the best ive ever seen, on the other hand Froch resume is definitely better than Calzaghe's. Really weird..

I'll take Joe to beat Carl in a fight, but Carl's career is more impressive.

Froch is nowhere near as special as Calzaghe, he has the better resume, sure, but he's just not as special

how would beating a smaller guy who has 0 world level wins on his resume put him over a fighter who moved up a division and defeated a legend

The thing is people might think Froch has a overall better resume than Joe. But at the end of the day, most think Joe would beat Froch and that will always count against Froch.

To me Froch has already passed Calzaghe, to be honest, Froch has faced better competition and has fought them one after the other. Roy was way passed him prime, and the B Hop fight should have been a draw.

No, GGG is a small middleweight. An undefeated record and wins over Jones and Hopkins will forever keep Joe above Carl but if you think Froch is better that's your choice so go ahead and put him over Joe.
