We in spanish use the word negro and not in derogatory or racist way. Maybe it's the same where he comes from? my spanish isn't anywhere near that of a native speaker, but isn't that the word for black? neh-gro negro it could be the word for black in russian, the way it is in spanish, which would obviously be excusable.

Calling a black person in europe negro is not racist, negro means black in spanish and blanco means white. And you are calling kovalev a racist PIG, the word pig is often used as a racial slur against white(blancos). Are you a racist? In Spanish a black person would normally be called a "negro". Contrary to American (US) belief, that has absolutely nothing to do with the dark past that American history is known for but more so as a term that specifically describes an individual's pigmentation with zero negative reference.

Well he isn't - he comes from a different background where he simply isn't aware of these things easily getting blown out of proportions in America. It is really worse with Hopkins, Broner, Floyd who ought to be more aware of what they say, how they behave. Smoke and mirrors. In some society (like in the Russian) racism sadly is more of an "okay" thing or at least not a very bad thing but don't fool yourself with the thought that they "don't know what they say". They know it exactly. They are aware of what racism is and they aware of the fact that they behave a racist way when they do, just in their country as I said it's more an "okay" thing, people get pass for it.
