I'm talking about Golovkin. I honestly can't believe people are buying this idea that Golovkin let Monroe land flush on purpose to lure bigger names in, am I the only one who finds that ridiculous?
Golovkin is an excellent fighter, I was impressed he took Monroe out in 6 as I thought it would last the distance but seriously what kind of fighter would get hit on purpose? Come on.
Holding a fighter to that kind of pedestal will only lead to disappointment in the end.
Big deal he got hit. It's a fight it happens. Monroe didn't land anything big until he was hurt (a hurt fighter can be very dangerous). I'm sure GGG wasn't worried if he got hit after round 2, he had him hurt and Monroe doesn't have KO power. Too bad Kovalev and GGG aren't in same weight class, that would be fun.
Voted NO, but for me it was the momentum of the fight, no it wasn't to lure anyone, no weren't holes.
GGG defensive master...NO
GGG good Defense YES...re-watch the first to rounds and you will see how many punches landed on both sides(that is his real way of fighting). After that GGG went for the kill.
Was an entertaining fight to watch. Thats all to it.
No hate, but the fact you voted yes proves my point. That some people genuinely believe he got hit on purpose to lure bigger names and i'm asking why you think that. Well, unless you weren't serious in your vote. Were you?
definitely not serious bro. i was just f'kn around with you.
I DO think he's trying to entice future opponents into the ring BUT i think GGG is smart enough to know that 1 punch CAN change a fight too.
he does what he does and it entertains! He's beating everyone they put in front of him, he's fighting damn near 4 times a year and WANTS to fight all the champions in his division. Why the hate?
Did monroe expose him? No. Did monroe hurt him? No. Did monroe have a few bright spots? Yes. Did monroe end up like all of GGG's opponents? YUP!
In the end, fans of the sport should want GGG to succeed as his style will bring more fans to the sport. Hopefully Cotto steps up and fights him when his mandatory is ordered.

It really isn't a new thing for an aggressive pressure fighter to open himself up a bit to draw his opponent out, especially when the opponent hasn't got much power.
It's not to lure in bigger names he does it ***at times**** to open up his opponents. He doesn't do it always it's not like every single punch GGG allowed him to hit him lol that obviously isn't the case, in boxing you're gonna get hit, but sometimes yes GGG does not give a sh it about being hit, just depends on the opponent.
Here is GGG in his native tongue in a Russian interview BEFORE the Monroe fight:
During the fight if I neglect my defence, it doesn't mean I am failing to defend myself, but most likely that I am provoking my opponent. I just watch. It is a strategy.
I find pleasure in fighting in an aggressive manner.
usually after he scores a KD or hurts his opp.
early on he's more careful but later after a few rounds less so.
maybe he tasted their power and decides no worry?
ppl are too obsessed about not getting hit.
boxing is not hit and not get hit. boxing is hurt them more than they hurt you.

Yeah i understand that. That quote is interesting, as long as he doesn't get too careless i suppose it's a good strategy, so far it's been fine.
Don't want to sound like i'm hating on him because i'm not, just wanted some answers on this
Golovkin doesn't show those flaws until he is selling out for a KO. He did the same in his last fight. Imo he tries to hard for knockouts when he hurts his opponents early or doesn't respect their power.
