I am prepared to get totally lambasted for this, but I see it as a necessity.
Given the track record for Manny there is a reason to believe that his injury was legit and troublesome in the fight with Floyd. To what degree? Hard to tell. My problem is that fans are treating his claim to injury as being a sore loser. Place the injury in the context of other sports and it seems absurd that it doesn't get real traction as a "what if?" I am not saying Manny wins. I am saying that if Peyton Manning has a injured shoulder and can't throw the ball down the field as well as does when he is healthy... and they lose... his is INJURY is a talking point. Insert any sport and if the star's option two is not 100% then the question is LEGITIMATE. Maybe Manny was injured during the fight? Maybe before? This is not a question of a fighter being hurt, but a for real INJURY.
Before the flaming begins... if you have been injured and competed then you know that it can make a BIG difference. That my friends is not an excuse. It is an explanation.
P.S. I do believe Manny lost, so I do disagree with assessment that he won. A lot of fighter talk that way after a loss.
