Styles certainly make fights so perhaps Pacquiao vs Khan would be much more competitive than the Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight - especially considering they've sparred before so already have some familiarity in the ring.
On the flip side, we saw how Khan handled Maidana with considerably more ease than Mayweather was able to and now this new version of Khan has some extra skills which Pacquiao hasn't seen in their previous sparring
So question is - do you think Khan would beat Pacquiao easier than Floyd was able to (just like Khan was able to beat Maidana easier than Floyd was able to) or would Khan vs Pacquiao be a more competitive fight than Mayweather vs Pacquiao?
I won't get into easier or not easier b/c I don't think it was as easy as some want to imagine in the first place otherwise Floyd would've done more instead being on the back foot for 12. But in response to people predicting Khan would get knocked out..
I might catch flak for this, and that's cool :fing26:, but this is my honest opinion, I can't even think of a reason to have an agenda - I thought Floyd's chin was a bit suspect in that fight, at the very least Khan wouldn't get hurt by those same shots...whether he avoids as many shots is a different story. I was f*cking shocked when Floyd got hurt in that fourth round (and again later at some point, I thought). Manny didn't even put much weight behind that punch, he just shot it straight as a quick counter. He was peppering Oscar with that sh1t all night and never visibly hurt Oscar. I just don't know what to think. I know Manny's a heavy handed guy, but there was no body weight behind that at all, just a quick counter. Otherwise, Floyd's conditioning allows him to recover quickly. I'm pretty sure Amir eats that without affect...I mean you really got to sit down to hurt Amir, I don't think it'll happen off a shot like that especially with his added weight.
Why do so many Khan fans act like he's some undefeated heir apparent as the pound for pound champ? Khan has been exposed more than once and he will be exposed again as soon as he fights a dangerous opponent.
There are at least 5 welterweights outside of Pacquiao who can be him right now.
1. Mayweather
2. Danny Garcia (already beat him)
3. Lamont Peterson (already beat him)
4. Keith Thurman
5. Kell Brook
And I would bet that Maidana wins a rematch at welter.
At welter, only Pacquiao, Mayweather and Thurman are legitimate threats to Khan. The rest are not. Garcia would lose a rematch, so his dad is making sure it never happens, despite the big payday on offer. Lamont Peterson was abusing steroids, and even then he would have lost if it wasn't for the referee point deductions. As for Brook, the bookmakers are predicting Khan to beat Brook.
Khans fight with Maidiana was closer on the cards then Floyds with Chino
Khan beat Maidana by UD, with all three cards in Khan's favour. Mayweather beat Maidana by MD, with one card having it a draw. Two of the judges may have scored Khan-Maidana closer, but the Compubox stats tell a different story, where the difference in the number of punches landed is much wider. Khan landed 273 against Maidana's 156, while May landed 230 against Maidana's 221. Khan beat Maidana by a wide point margin, whereas May-Maidana was very close.

Khan not on the same level as Pacquiao as Pac wasn't in Floyd's last May 2. He'd get schooled by Manny. Pick someone like Kell Brook for Khan, that would be a good domestic fight. https://www.throwdownfantasy.com/games/join_game/554cf66d9b8db
I guarantee Khan would out point Manny just like Floyd did, he just has to be fighting in a disciplined fashion

I don't think Pacman is shot but he is past his best and slowed down a heck of a lot but if he managed to land on May and stagger him a couple times, those same shots would put Khan on his arse.

Not in reality, I only gave Maidana 3 rounds. Biased judging is nothing new - Maidana was built up to be a beast who was supposed to knock out Khan - the crowd cheered at everything he did which impaired the judgement of the officials. It's something that commonly happens, look at Mayweather vs Canelo where one judge somehow had it a draw because she was probably swayed by the crowd cheering at Canelo's every move. Or Froch vs Dirrell where the crowd booed Dirrell's clinching and cheered Froch's every move, resulting in a Froch SD when to me Dirrell clearly won the fight...
So if you watch the fights neutrally I think most would say that Khan clearly did better against Maidana than Floyd did.
I'll have plenty of dollar on a Manny win via KO if that fight gets made. Just like I had plenty of dollar on Mayweather to beat Manny on points.
A knockout isn't impossible for either fighter but Pacquiao has never actually knocked out anyone at 147.
His stoppages of De La Hoya and Cotto were at 145 not 147, they were both weight-drained which can (and did) make a noticeable difference in how a fight can play out (see below for another example).
Some months back, Khan was saying Pac would stylistically be a tougher fight for him than Mayweather. And that's obviously because Pac is a pressure fighter with punching power. But after Pac's underwhelming performance against May, that might no longer be the case. It should be a competitive fight that could go either way, either Khan winning by UD (outboxing Pac) or Pac winning by KO (if he still has the punching power).
Khans too big, too fast and too strong for pacquiao. I am not sure Pac can hurt Khan and pacs punch output dramatically decreases against boxers who can fight on the backfoot and control range. I just see Khan countering pac, controling range, making pac lunge and getting in combos in between. Wide UD for Khan.
Maidana won rounds 3,6,7 and the last 3 vs Khan, battering him in a few of those. Ha at Khan doing better than Floyd, yeah in some rounds he dominated the 2010 version of maidana but overall, over 12 rounds it was a clsoe fight decided by the first round kd and the point deduction, it was a great fight that deserved a rematch.
Khan "dominating" Maidana is a myth.
Khan nearly knocked out Maidana in the first round, whereas I don't think Floyd came close to dropping Maidana in two fights. The Khan-Maidana fight was a case where a lot of people thought Khan had no chance going in either, he was the underdog so people gave Maidana far too much credit for his performance. I think Khan outperformed Floyd quite convincingly if you watch Khan vs Maidana and then Floyd vs Maidana I & II, Khan handled Maidana a lot easier overall, but again styles make fights.
Maidana had a much better trainer when he fought Floyd than when he fought Amir. Maidana also had a conditioning coach for the Mayweather fight while he didn't have one against Khan. And Maidana STILL PUT Khan on queer street in the later rounds. You have to look at every detail before coming to a conclusion.
I've seen Manny and Khan spar and it was back and forth, tit for tat but honestly Manny was getting the better punches in. I'm sure Roach would love that fight for Manny because Khan gets sparked out.
