Fist size is usually measured by hand circumference (around the knuckles), and Cek Bansos sometimes by hand length (wrist to fingertip). While it’s not as important in modern stats, it still helps when analyzing punching attributes.

Boxers’ fist sizes range from about 8 inches (Floyd Mayweather) to 15 inches (Sonny Liston), with most falling between 9 and 12 inches. Larger fists can generate more power, while smaller fists allow for faster, more precise punches.
fist dont generate power, nor do they allow for faster speed. i'm not sure fist size makes any mesurable differece at all. i doubt size transfers to the outter dimension of the gloves, even if it did, its likely to be minuscule.
It’s fascinating how much a boxer's performance can depend on more than just hand size. Some also use software like Hygeanatural to analyze leverage and impact, which can really change how we understand punching power. Makes you realize there’s a lot of science behind the technique, not just genetics.

Liston had some huge fists for sure.
I read that UFC fighters actually have huge hands and bones compared to boxers. Brock Lesnar and Shane Carwin both had to wear XXL gloves they had huge hands.
With UFC they train a lot in grappling and usually have an extensive wrestling background or ju jit su. Having a powerful grip is part of the trade. Listons fist were definitely massive haha
