He landed the cleaner punches and, if the punch stats are correct, more of them. Pacquiao was great in flurries and kept Mayweather on his back foot all fight... not that that's unusual in a Mayweather fight, but more often than not seemed to end up stuck on the end of multiple jabs looking for a way inside. At least that's how it seemed to most, but not everyone.
Two very notable boxing figures had it for Manny Pacquiao. First, former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield: "That's crazy. I don't know how in the world... I don't know how they score that." - @holyfield Pacquaio fought a great fight. He threw a lot of punches and had a lot of energy. I think Manny controlled the fight." - @holyfield Adding his voice to Holyfields, former multi-division champion Shane Mosley (who fought both Mayweather and Pacquiao) had it for "Pac-Man" scoring the fight 7-5.
Of course you could have scored it for Pac!
I understand most scoring for Mayweather for clean punches but if you counted most of those shots Pacquaio landed up close on the ropes, which although defended could still be counted as scoring shots, then I believe PAc would have landed MORE punches obviously!
Either way, a case can be made that the aggressor should be favoured over the runner in any exchanges.
The fight was that close in reality.
There should probably be a rematch for sure.
I had it 8 to 4 for Floyd. Floyd controlled the pace Manny didn't do enough offensively, hardly any side to side legs who knows if it would of been enough.

You can really tell who controlled the fight. Pac was the effective aggressor in the ring that night.
The scoring of judges has psychologically influenced the minds of the boxing fans. If you watch it again. Pac threw the effective punches. And he put the hurt in the hurt game.
The swing rounds all went to Floyd the hometown boy. Give it to Pac, this would have been a win or at least a draw.
Oh really
