Pacquiao did better against Mosley, Hatton, Cotto, and De la Hoya while Floyd did slightly better against Marquez.
Slightly :D
Floyd didn't even break a sweat.
The hatton that fought pac was a shadow. The hatton that fought PBF was in top form - fought well but was totally outclassed by a peak Floyd.
Cotto and marquez are interesting common opponents.
Well Marquez puts all this talk to sleep
Wishful thinking, but that's 1 in Floyd's favor vs 4 for Manny. If you don't remember watch the Hatton, Cotto and DLH fights again to see how Floyd spent many rounds struggling with those guys whereas Manny stomped a mudhole in all 3. Mosley was about equal but Pac was more impressive in that one too. I don't necessarily use common opponents as a measure but if you apply it here, Manny is the runaway winner.
Well Floyd handled Marquez like no other fighter in Marquez career. I think Mosley fight is a hard one to say because Pac knocked him down and Mosley hurt Floyd but over the course of the entire fights i'd say Floyd probably did the better work against Mosley. Pacquiao did much better against Cotto and De La Hoya, but one can argue they were completely drained. Pacquiao did better against Hatton but it was clear even in the Lazcano fight Hatton was done.
So on first look Pacquiao has done better in the way he won but when you read into it properly and see each fight for what it was, i'd say there's no real way to say.
Who cares? They're gonna fight tonight finally.
Pac has done better against most of the fighters. This is partly because he dishes out far more punishment than Mayweather. Floyd did much better against Marquez though.
However, none of this matters concerning tonight's fight. Both of these guys are going to be pushed to their mental and physical limits. This is a great night for the sport.
