FLOYD Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao are undoubtedly the two best boxers of this era.
But how do these two fair well with the other all-time greats of the sweet science.
Yahoo! Sports recently did a poll on an All-Time Top 25 list, and asked a panel of boxing experts to give 15 boxers who they think deserved to be on the list.
Some of the experts that were in the panel are Yahoo! Sports Kevin Iole, HBO broadcasters Jim Lampley and Max Kellerman, Al Berstein and Steve Farhood of Showtime, Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame founder Rich Marotta and promoter Lou DiBella.
Mayweather (47-0, 26 KOs) got 15 votes and was ranked at No. 19, while Pacquiao (57-5-2, 38 KOs) ranked three spots lower at No. 22 with 12 votes. He was tied with welterweight and middle weight champion Charles Burley (83-12-2, 50 KOs).
Most experts still believe that Sugar Ray Robinson (173-19-6, 108 KOs) is still the best with 164 votes, followed by Henry Armstrong (151-21-9, 101 KOs) with 148 votes and Muhammad Ali (56-5, 37 KOs) at No. 3 with 127 votes.
Harry Greb (107-8-3, 48 KOs) is fourth, followed by Roberto Duran (103-16, 70 KOs) at fifth, Joe Louis (66-3, 52 KOs) and Willie Pep (229-11-1, 65 KOs) were tied at sixth, followed Sugar Ray Leonard (36-3-1, 25 KOs), Billy Leonard (89-6-1, 70 KOs) and Sam Langford (179-30-39, 128 KOs) at eighth, ninth and 10th, respectively.
Archie Moore (185-23-10, 131 KOs), Ezzard Charles (93-25-1, 52 KOs), Joe Gans (145-10-16, 100 KOs), Barney Ross (72-4-3, 22 KOs), Jack Johnson (55-11-8, 35 KOs), Pernell Whitaker (40-4-1, 17 KOs), Gene Tunney (65-1-1, 48 KOs) and Jack Dempsey (54-6-9, 44 KOs) are ranked 11th to 18th.
