When he says that it makes no sesne to me at all because if that is the case then I am guessing other people are training while he is sleeping so there is no point in showing off about that.
If he is not sleeping he will be tired and not getting the required rest to enable recovery I will . I will not be surprised if he gets KO'd en DosRounds if he is not getting his sleep in!
I don't care if you think it's ridiculous I just explained why he jogs and works out late at night. And when did I ever say or imply he goes to sleep early? Dunno how you got that out of that sentence I wrote.
Plenty of people are in bed by the time they actually will be fighting, around 10:30 or 11 at night. One fight isn't gonna change your bodies natural tendency to want to rest because it's dark and late outside.
if u have a fight today then ur up early in the morning getting ready for it so ur body will be up and ready to go when its time to fight. u act like floyd doesnt get himself ready for his fight until 7pm or something LOL.

then why post up its so the body will get used to it come fight night? LOL. i mean we see clips of floyd when he's not fighting during midnight cruising around town so just stop it. this whole i train while everyone is sleeping is nothing but mind games. its to make people think u are actually working harder than ur opponent since u are training while he's sleeping.
i can understand if the fight is over sea and u are trying to get used to the different time zone but this whole "its so the body will be awake" thing is ridiculous LOL. u act like floyd is in bed by 6pm or something on a normal day.

It's so his body will be awake when they start fighting around 10:30-11:00

Yeah this is just a mental thing. Purely just for self motivation in my opinion, which is cool, but as you said, no point bragging about it. It is like how a lot of fighters run very early in the day. They don't have to do that, but the discipline of making yourself do it is a great mental strength builder.
The kind of 'I am doing what the vast majority of people wouldn't bother with' type of attitude can help a lot with confidence I feel.
The 'When you work, I work. When you sleep, I work' stuff is that kind of thing too...It obviously isn't true, it is a mental thing.
I've always wondered about this. Tyson and Hopkins made the same statement. They'd wake up at 4am, go for a run and start training. "While I'm training, the other guy is sleeping"
But if the other guy wakes up later, and trains at night, then the early birds are sleeping while the other guy is training. wtf is the point.
I think Floyd has the right mindset of a sleep schedule, and the peak of his day is likely around 7-10pm, when he is going to be in the ring. His mind and body are peaked around that time (if that's what he trains for) rather than the guy who is normally sleeping at that time.
I work a later shift, and usually wake up around 2pm. I'm usually running circles around everyone else at my gym, I just tell them it's the coke, but waking up naturally is the best energy boost
Honestly dude I just think it's a combination of your biological clock and preference. I worked in an Emergency Room for year's (and still do ) and i have worked every shift under the moon and learned that 3rd shift just didn't physically suit me well and noticed a drastic change in my energy levels and overall physical well being. I just functioned better during the day as supposed to being nocturnal.
This, in stark contrast to my fellow coworkers who feel as soon as the sun goes down and the moon is out is where they feel most energetic /productive.

its all for mind games. it makes it seem like u are training harder since u have to wake up at midnight while everyone else is sleeping.
I absolutely agree with the thread starter. Recovery time is just as important as training. If you're not giving your body the proper time to recover that actually age you prematurely. I know Floyd is a gym rat but he needs t take it easy on his body especially as he gets older.
It's a mental/motivational thing. My trainers and coaches use to tell me the same thing to motivate me. They used to tell me **** like "While your opponent is sleeping you are working." and "Get one day better" and other **** like that.
