Taken from the At Last documentary. This scene was cut from the version of the documentary aired internationally.
I just think its insane that this is being discussed.
If you think poor people in the US have it just as tough as poor people from a 3rd world country, you're just flat out wrong.
Did you read and comprehend my post you quoted or just skim through it?
Since he was so concerned perhaps he can donate some of his winnings to a charitable organization over there!
Like Africa, Philippins did nothing for him
So one person posts a video of Filipinos eating garbage (recooked restaurant food) in order to survive and Floyd has said, "It's f'd up over there." What exactly did he say that's wrong or untrue? Like none of you use similar statements to describe a place. "Oh the war in (insert country) is bad. It's f'd up over there." He doesn't have to go there to know that the situation is bad, he just gave his take on it (an opinion), no different than some of the posters in this forum. It wasn't nor meant to be disrespectful towards the Philippines. I swear some of you guys are clowns who just love to spew nonsense about boxers on the internet, especially Floyd. Sad really.
don't hate on Floyd, Floyd fans said he is just saying all these things pretending to be bad to sell the fight.
oh wait Floyd fans said the fight sell itself.
Look I'm really not trying to compare the poverty in america to the philipines because overall you all right there is no comparison.
To the bold I work by the white house where the president of the usa lives while in office. I can literally walk one block from the white house and take pictures of homeless people here eating garbage.
So can we all just stop with comparing of the poor and down trodden people of the world cause we really look and come off as @$$holes for doing so!

The one thing I hated about the documentary, is where they genuinely compared the US version of 'the streets', i.e how Mayweather was supposedly brought up, to being brought up on the streets in the Philippines fighting for your family's daily food.
Two totally different worlds
on Mayweather: 'streets that hardly brought any more promise'
Like seriously ?
Well he should be thankful the streets aren't the same.
It is fucked up over there, no arguing that.
Has he ever been there though or just assuming?
Now they're arguing about who's poor people are worse off. :lol1:
If both have nothing, how can one be better off?
There's nothing to argue about. Poor people in developed countries get some sort of support from the government like food stamps and what not.
In 3rd world countries, corruption is so extreme that there is nothing left to support those living below the poverty line.
Here's a CNN piece about pagpag.
It's literally restaurant garbage, recooked, and sold as food.
Think it's hard living on food stamps? Try living off garbage.
i don't think its comparable. some people in 3rd world countries literally eat garbage just to survive.

Why is the number more relevant than the refusing a drugs test , thats the meat in the sandwich of that comment , your comprehension of what is important is misguided .
any update on Floyd random drug test by USADA?
It's f'd up over there but we have to remember that the Philippines is a 3rd world country full of political corruption.
Whats even worse is that the United States is the most powerful country in the world and we have towns and city's that are just as f'd up.

I thought this too. Don't get me wrong I know little to nothing about the area that Floyd grow up in, but from what I have read and things I have seen on where Manny grew up, I would bet that they do not compare all that much.
Manny spent the first years of his life virtually in a jungle of a region that had a war going on. Had to move away from that to sell stuff on the street for pennies to give his mother while they went periods of time with nothing to eat etc.. I understand life may not have been all too easy for Floyd early but come on.
EDIT: So in relation to Floyd saying it is a mess over there well he is right. No need for people to jump on him for saying it really. Yes how he said it was a little crude but that is about it. He isn't exactly wrong.

So there is no one in america who daily fights for their family's food is what you are saying?
Nobody is comparing america overall to a 3rd world country but what you said in the bold is just foolish!

Mayweather said. "When I was young, I told her 'I think I should get a job'. She said, 'No, just keep boxing'". "When I was about eight or nine, I lived in New Jersey with my mother and we were seven deep in one bedroom and sometimes we didn't have electricity", Mayweather said. "When people see what I have now, they have no idea of where I came from and how I didn't have anything growing up".
Poor Floyd.
It is fu**ed up in the Philippines.
But why would he say that?
A lot of American families are fu**ed up including Floyd's. But why would Manny mention that?
Anyway f o c k the politicians and their supporters who f o c k the Philippines.
I can guarantee you there are certain neighborhoods in this country where the violent crime rate are comparable to that of the Philippines if not more ... I forget which city it was but I believe it was Detroit that ranked in the top 10 most dangerous cities in the world ... Period. Which is crazy when you take in to account it was up against 3rd world countries.

FLoyd: "It's f'd up over there in The Philippines! It's not what I represent!"
Then Floyd starts wearing TMT t-shirts with his image glorifying the Filipino flag on his media day for the Pacquiao fight and tells the radio stations, "The Philippines just using my name to help them sell some sushi and coconuts"
