Quillin has played himself pretty bad every chance he has gotten. Whether it's been interviews, vacating belts, not making weight or simply not performing that well, this dude's done it. I really hope Kid Chocolate gets his act together because he has talent and still has some decent options available to him, even now.
He could fight Jacobs in an all-Brooklyn showdown. That would be a decent money fight and should be a very easy fight to make, even if Jacobs' strap doesn't really mean anything. Quillin could also try to land a shot at the winner of the IBF belt (if N'Jikam wins). He could also keep himself in the mix against a beatable name like Mora or Soliman. Whatever he does, he better be smart about it from now on because he's in danger of being rendered irrelevant without ever having lost a fight.
Pretty ironic Quillin was saying Golovkin should move up to 168, this is the second time Peter's missed weight and he fought at 168 himself for a bit. I remember the Jessie Brinkley fight was at super middleweight.
Hahaha, missed weight twice for title fights
I don't think peter could get canelo in the ring since canelo is focused on dominating the 155 division
Lol...
I thought before the big breakup at gbp that Quillen-canelo was gonna be a big fight when canelo moved up... Now it probably will never happen, even if quillen was still champ
Danny Jacobs is quillen's only hope for a payday
Pretty much this...
Quillen has nobody to blame but himself... That belt was worth a small fortune and had him lined up with future big fights with Canelo, ggg, Jacobs..

$1.4m against Korobov. Turns it down, drops belt. Haymon pays Billy Joel Saunders step aside money so Quillin can get his title back. Misses weight. Fights to a draw. Loses huge chunk of purse. lol what a blunder.

No he wouldn't have. Promoter has got to take their cut along with Haymon and Peter's team. I don't know why people think he was gonna get 1.4M straight. That's not how it works
He probably only has to pay haymon and his feam
Bradley ducking Khan and not only securing a PAC fight, but 2 with a JMM payday sandwiched in between?
Marquez turned down a rematch with Manny fought chris john then rematches manny for millions
The difference in both of these examples is that Bradley and Marquez were both more established than Quillin, so they had no problem getting bigger fights later. They also didn't vacate titles for "the bigger picture". Quillin has shown while he has talent, he is far from a household name. The poorly fought draw against Lee does nothing to raise his stock.
Haymon paid Quillin $500k to duck Korobov, when he could have earned $1.4 million. He made $500k for the fight with Lee, but had to pay him $125k of his purse for not making weight and couldn't fight for the title. He lost $525k overall. Peter may live to regret his choices.

Thats not the point, he just made 375K and cuts are usually on a % basis so he still made ~4X less than he would have against Korobov
Quillen is not hungry, with no amature backround he has a great story which is great that hes made it this big and hes a cool guy but he doesnt have the hunger to get better, he got his money and got married now hes just enjoying life he will not beat any of the champs
Word. Even if he lost to Korobov he would have walked away with $1.4m

If Qullin and Lee do rematch it will be worth a lot more imo
Who would want to see that though? The fight basically sucked...neither guy threw any punches.
Quillin passed on the fight to be with his pregnant wife and ailing uncle, who eventually died. Nobody here reads.
Funny how that wasn't his reason until months later. And no one even knew about the uncle until like a week ago.
I think we've read a lot, and don't believe it when Quacklin has 5 different excuses for ducking, each more extreme in their attempt to gain sympathy than the one before.
He didn't even get that 500k. He has 125k fined for not making weight so Quillin's purse was actually 375k which is over a million less than he would have made fighting Korobov. Nice business there.
Haymon paid him to step aside and fronted the money to get him his title back straight away, at the first opportunity. He would have made 500k plus the 500 step aside. It was his fault he defaulted the 125k through the weight. He had nearly made close to the 1.4m, fallin 400 short before the default.
Haymon basically didn't want ROC promoting a super show with his fighter, especially when he's been trying flour tighter PBC. It would have sent the wrong message out ie ROC is the brand on the block, not PBC. Ok Quillom bore the brunt of the episode and was made to look stupid but he's earnt that back already nearly and only has himself to blame he has no belt now. Haymon did his part on repaying his debt to Quillin.
