To me, just looking at the disrespect a jab and sticking and moving does it doesn't seem like you can win that way unless you are making network, promoters or venues big money.
Canelo Vs Lara for example, guy gets throughly out class but Canelo gets the decision.
Canelo vs Trout, guy outlanded by far but still gets the decision.
Danny Vs Herrera, Danny got the ears boxed off of him and gets the decision.
Danny Vs Peterson, I could easily see it 7-5, 8-4 for Lamont but Danny gets the decision.
Of course I can think of 15 different fights but it seems like the ONLY boxer that gets credit for sticking and moving on the judges score cards is the Money Man himself, Mayweather.
Is the new era of boxing. The guy boxing is controlling the fight while the other is pressuring ineffectively and he still gets the round. I think landing a jab and controlling the fight is worth more than following your opponent around (not cutting the ring off) and hitting air.
If my jab gives you a bloody nose and gives you a bruise under your eye I think Id rather Score in favor of that than hitting hips and elbows. Even if they're power punches.
Agreed^^ anything that's not a jab is counted a power punch. People saying Danny won the Herrera fight because he landed more power punches, even tho Herrera's jab was beating his face to a bloody pulp.
