Are Americans taking boxing back? Think about it.
At heavyweight, Deontay Wilder is the king when Wladimir retires (Wilder could probably even give him a little push into retirement if a bomb lands on the Ukrainian glass jaw).
At cruiserweight and light heavyweight, they haven't taken over yet.
At super middleweight, Ward and the Dirrell Bros. are just levels above the rest, pure American dominance, although it's a bit too early to rank Anthony yet.
At middleweight, we don't know. Why are so many people so sure that Golovkin would beat Quillin? Quillin got more skills and power than anyone Golovkin has fought and look how often Golovkin got hit against Murray and how it made him pick a soft opponent right after (Willie Monroe) in order to regain some confidence in his skills. Right now, Golovkin most likely rules, but not surely. If we can call this division Golovkin's territory, we might as well also call it Quillin's territory.
Light middleweight, welterweight, you name, the smaller weights are absolutely dominated by American fighters like Mayweather, Broner, Crawford, etc. Floyd schooled Canelo the LMW king.
Man, Europeans needs to stop their pathetic whining and start producing some proper fighters. I know it must feel annoying...
"Ah, it's so nice to have Wladimir as the champ! Oh? Who is that young, tall, athletic and extremely powerful American boxer who makes me fear for Wladimir's safety? Wladimir doesn't have to fight him, Wilder sucks! Wladimir should fight Fury, he looks more dangerous than Wilder!"
I'm almost laughing everytime Wladimir mentions Wilder AND Fury. No, Wladimir, just stick to mentioning ONLY Wilder or just admit that you will duck him and choose to fight Fury instead! Fury is your excuse to duck Wilder.
Hate to break it to you but Wilder sucks. He's only at where he's at because of favourable matchmaking and being able to fight for a meaningless paper strap against a sick out of shape mediocre Stiverne. He won't even make it to a Wlad fight if Povektin becomes his mando. People are talking about Fury because he is Wlad's #1 contender and he actually has the skills to beat Wlad.
Wlad and his team are only talking about Wilder because they know that's an easy early round knockout.
"America has 19 title belts currently. No other country has more than 8.
It's no contest really."
THis is extremely flawed logic. The U.S. only has more fighters with more belts because most of the promotional and cable networks are American and reside in the U.S. Promoting an American boxer is much easier for everyone involved. NOt to mention Danny Garcia is puerto Rican...The Quality of boxing in the U.S. has deteriorated significantly, I see higher quality champions emerging from other countries, particularly easter europe and russia.
GGG, Kovalev, LOmachenko, Bertebiev, Lemuiex, Lee, Pac, Wlad, Povetkin, Froch, Lara, Groves, Degale, and plenty of Japanese and mexican fighters will probably all have belts if they do not by now.
You can twisted and make excuse all you want but...THE FACT STILL REMAINS!
American boxing hasn't gone anywhere. It maybe dead at the amateur level, but America still runs the pro game.
There are 11 lineal champions in boxing. America has 5 (Ward-SMW, Mayweather-JMW, Mayweather-WW, Garcia-JWW, Crawford-LW). Cuba has 2. No other country has more than 1.

EXACTLY! I gave up trying to debate with KIDS who don't know WTF they're talking about. You kill them with FACTS all they do is reply with more BS and start going off topic and trying to drag other things into it and they try to tell you how "Mayweather and Ward don't count" :lol1:

No, The brits are out performing americans right now. I would take abraham over at least one of the Dirrells, And then that leaves Ward by himself. Degale and Groves are just as good or better than Anthony. Froch is not retired yet, Stieglets and Abraham would give any American a fight.
Middlewight is even worse for Americans. We have Quillin, who is a joke in his own right. Americans are performing very poorly in boxing right now. GGG and lemeuix look the top of the division right now.

Great post. Keep killing 'em with facts.
Could happen...
Even if it did, the internet would ignore and continue to diss poorly (as is the standard) out of pure jelly. And we would giggle and then bail everybody out. Like we always do. Cause we're good like that.

You're really pushing here. People want wlad to fight wilder because everybody knows wilder isn't that good. And you sure like generalising Europeans. Europe is made of a variety of different nationalities and boxing styles. Wlad is Ukrainian. In a lot of cases some European countries are more likely to root against other European countries. Stop being ignorant and presuming a whole continent is the same. That's like saying Argentina and Mexico produce the same fighters
Why doesn't wilder mention povetkin? It just seems strange that he's looking for the easiest path here. Why did wilder need to fight 30 stiffs while fury and even Chisora were calling him out?

... You're a pure genius... I suspect that when Naoya Inoue shows up in the U.S., he will instantly become a "native", right?
Yeah ahahaha.
I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry.
I mean if he was serious then he needs help.
But I suspect he was joking in which case I kinda liked his style :lol1:
At the end of the day, America is the Land of Milk and Honey with a lot of folks coming over to 'get theirs'. Look at this list: Wilder is American, Kovalev is American, Ward is American, GGG is now an American, Gayweather is American, Garcia is American, Crawford is American, Loma is American, and Rigo is an American. That's a wide weight spectrum of talent. So 'America' is doing just fine in boxing.

Are Americans taking boxing back? ...
... I suspect that by "Americans" you mean fighters from the "Americas" (i.e. the "New World") -- not just U.S.!?!... :)
... And, again, by "Americans" I guess you mean Al Haymon and not his fighters!?!...
... The U.S. fighters own just few weight divisions right now: 140; 147 and 168 (in case Andre Ward shows up, finally)... As for the rest, I really don't know...

How is Wilder the king when Wlad retires?
Theres Fury and Povetkin out there, who have arguably better resumes
The WBC belt gives Wilder a top 5 ranking at Heavyweight, nothing more
A more respectable opinion.
The TS obviously has an agenda...
What a ninny!

As if "LINEAL" champ has any significance in the 21st century!
Arguing with lineal titles has to be now one of the most childish arguments one could make..
Like saying.. "My featherfist bummy boxer is better than your elite fighter because he's the lineal champ." even though the other guy is also a champ and clearly recognised as the better fighter.
Even when the lineal champ had more meaning, it was STILL questionable as the it's credibility on occasion..
Like when green cruiser featherfist career bum Leon Spinks held it in the presence of Larry Holmes, and like when Michael Spinks held it in the presence of Mike Tyson.
I think that by the time George Foreman got hold of the lineal championship and squandered it away by dropping the titles, in reality losing it to Axel Schultz and then officially losing it in a fight he should have been awarded to Briggs, the lineal championship idea is dead.
The lineal champion should only be regarded as the best when they ARE the best! Simple as that.
Everbody knows that Golovkin or Kovalev for example could lay waste to all comers.
American old school s***s on European pitty-pat bull****. Slap and run, that's all you got.
Yeah yeah Rockin' of course your gonna defend your home team mate.
Tell Kovalev to keep that pitty pat bull**** to himself right :lol1:
