but santa cruz isn't even trying to make those fights. ggg tried to fight froch, cotto, canelo, chavez jr...etc...i know those guys reached out to santa cruz and got crickets Frampton-Quigg is the priority fight in the division; either the fight happens and Leo targets the winner, or the camps say to heck with the fight and Haymon sees what the offer ends up being for both fights, before moving. Until that happens, Leo doesn't gain anything from beating his chest. Instead, he keeps his face in front of people, stays active, and continues to build his title reign while he waits. Golovkin's camp talked up a big game (Golovkin is among the GOATs at middleweight without actually fighting anyone), called out every possible money fight, completely ignored certain fighters, and now their left still feeding a 33-year old Olympian, no-hopers. With Leo only being 26, he doesn't have to rush anything either.

To make the undercard even worse, they add another meaningless match-up. While Frampton and Quigg were busy with their back-and-forth, I'm sure that either would've appreciated a call to fight LSC, but it's likely that they didn't even get one. Fight Rey Vargas or Kid Galahad, someone I've actually seen before! He's getting noticeably worse, which sucks. Leo Santa Cruz wasn't having problems blasting out bums 3 years ago. The bums he's fighting now are no better, but he's looking much worse against them. This is the biggest concern. I have a hard time seeing him dominate a top guy because of how he's handling his current quality of opposition.

There was a time where I thought Leo had a chance to rise to an A fighter type level, but yeah, it looks more and more like he has hit his ceiling. He has a great motor, work rate is elite but outside of that he seems pretty average.

Same reason Golovkin has been feasting on soft touches, likely even before he appeared on HBO in the first place: there are only a few really big fights for him so, while he waits, his camp is happy just keeping him busy. LSC vs Frampton (in Belfast), LSC vs Quigg (stateside), and LSC vs Frampton/Quigg winner (on UK PPV, with live afternoon show stateside) are the money fights for Santa Cruz; LSC vs Rigo is the legacy fight, but the economics of the situation (with Caribe leeching off of every Rigo fight) likely makes that a longshot. it is such a joke, how can such a historic and expensive event have the worst undercard in the history of sports. It's f**king whack, I agree. But I think they prefer whack ass fights on the undercard for this one, that way the main event is amplified that much more. Seems hard to fathom that any fight could steal some of the thunder from Manny/Floyd but there's some concern out there that with the absolutely insane levels of hype this fight has produced, that it's going to be difficult if not impossible to meet expectations. We'll have to see on that. And of course this won't affect that PPV sales at all, so they're all good with f**king true fight fans over once again by not even respecting the undercard.

Im glad lomachenko is on it, that is the only fight im interested in but hes fighting a can. This is what happen when you let Mayweather (the worst promoter ever) take care of the undercard Lomachenko wanted to fight a good fighter, however his Mandatory had the decision on whether he can bypass him for someone else. His tomato can mandatory rejected that so therefore he is fighting that Puerto Rican Tomato Can.

Obviously Leo fights a nobody... this would of course be a perfect opportunity to give Rigo the huge exposure he deserves and possibly hype up a Loma-Rigo showdown... but that would mean sacrificing Leo which won't happen...
