Chris John is often seen as... well, he's not seen at all, people underrate and forget him. This guy defeated Marquez (who was 44-2-1 at the time), Enoki (who was 27-0-2 at the time), Piriyapinyo (who was 44-0 at the time). He also got some other okay wins, but those 3 are the most mentionable. He only lost one fight in his entire career, his retirement fight when he was completely shot. How come this guy gets no respect?
You don't consider prime Marquez an impressive victory?
No that was a good win. And Chris was good. Im not sure what else you want people to say. It'd not going to be an epiphany were everyone goes okay yeah he's top 10 of his time.
I'll admit Chris John gets a lot more hate than he should but the fact that he refused to travel out of his home country but only a hand full of times really hurt his status.
Loma would literally beat the brakes off of Chris John. Oh boy he'd get the paws put on him.
Yeah... I would expect Lomachenko to destroy a retired Chris John as well. Just a gut feeling...
Chris John is the asian Andre Ward/Felix Sturm, abusing his home court advantage (referee and judges in his pocket). The Marquez win is quite debatable.
Also Piriyapinyo is nothing special, check out Damian Jonak - smart timing & picking on shot opponents can do wonders for your resume (ask Cotto being gifted a crippled Sergio Martinez).
So, are you saying everyone in the entire world dropped the ball on Chris John and you have made an assessment that everyone else in this world missed?

He may very well be in the low end of the top 100 P4P boxers ever. His resume is better than the resume of Joe Louis, or do you suggest any win on Joe Louis' record that is better than beating a prime Marquez fair and square?

So John, who is better than Marquez, would lose to Lomachenko, who is worse than Salido?
He may be underrated but where do you want us to rank him? ATG?

Now in addition to Anthony Mundine, you think Chris John is underrated? What's your next thread going to be? Sven Ottke?
Dude. This guy beat Marquez. He is on another level than Mundine. Regarding Mundine, he will get his respect when he beats Trout.
