Boxing in Australia has become an absolute joke with every fight other than espn on ppv including the PBC fights that are on fee to air tv in the US.
Yet UFC and wrestling are shown on normal cable and only the cards that are ppv in the US are ppv.
Now before you all call me poor or a tight ass let me explain that in order to watch all the boxing matches shown on tv in te last 12 mths it would have cost me around $900 while I pay just under $600 for cable for a year which includes virtually every game from every other sport in every major league in HD.
It's an absolute joke and its killing the sport here since it's basically inaccessible.
On the bright side you guys probably have more hotter women per capita than just about anywhere else in the world

Yeah but you can only get so much tits and ass.
There's only 1 cable company here and internet is **** (only 20% of people can strem in HD) cos there's 22mil people in a country almost as big as the US in the middle of nowhere, but generally its just cos people are overpaid here, and happy enough to get ripped off.
I paid $599 for a ps4 that was made in China and our dollar was virtually equal yet they were $399 in the US.

Then that blows. Sounds like you're getting screwed over there.

Yeah but thats just basic plus sports( maybe 25-30 channels) and ive cut a deal cos ive had it for 15 years and threaten to quit.

I'd say your lucky for paying $600 a year for cable. Average cable bills in the US run well over twice that. I pay nearly $200 per month just for the television portion of my cable.

That is probably a good call, Austrailia could be a pretty big market and does have a long rich history in boxing.
You need to get in touch with Boxnation, imo that is who you need to get a hold of because that is their game and that is an interesting opportunity.
Yeah, maybe thats the go. I'm by far the boggest boxing fan I know and I never buy these ppvs! I only buy actual ppvs that are worth it. So I'd love to see their numbers, ive emailed mainevent but no answer. I was thinking a fighht channel with a $10-15 a mth subscription could do well.
What i dont get is UFC is quite popular or at least it was a few years back but they show all non US ppv for free. Only actual UFC is is ppv.

I know right.
The funny thing is they still dont have Pac v May so im wondering if theres something up there.
Pubs are advertising it, but thats through foxsports.

If you stream it then why does it bother you???? It's still free!
The diehard fans will stream and the casuals won't.........jail rules bro...every man for themselves lol
Australia need to start producing for half decent talent for the television providers to give a **** about airing it.
no domestic superstars = no investment
The best way to become a boxing star here is to play rugby.
When I was a kid guys like jeff Fenech and Lester Ellis were household names because try were on tv.
Now the only boxers kids know are Mundine and sonny bill Williams.
That's what I mean, if its going on ppv then he'd rather take a cut of a tiny ppv than have it shown for free.
Why is he trying grow he sport in the US while ignoring a small but potentially lucrative market.
Don't worry, if he succeeds in the US best believe he'll be coming for the UK and Australian markets.
Haymon will have sold the rights to these guys.
