Artur Beterbiev vs Sergey Kovalev Who takes it?

Kovalev did worse to Campillo when he wasn't shot. Why are people making such a big deal out of that fight? It's impressive, but not anything close to proof that Beterbiev is anywhere near ready for the best in the division. Did worse? I don't think so, unless i missunderstand you. Beterbiev was a Brutal KO while Kovalev was a TKO after 3 knockdown. The most impressive from Beterbiev is his accuracy with around 40-45% punch landing. P.S (Breaking news) : WBO want to find a way to rank him #1 for a fight vs Sergey Kovalev.

I'd pick Artur Beterbiev over Kovalev, he is way more accurate than Kovalev. beating a top 10 of the division in 4 rounds and after Campillo post-fight quotes it should have been done in 1st round. Stevenson vs Kovalev should be long done and over with by the time Beterbiev gets a shot. Assuming of course that Kathy Duva doesn't run away from that fight if a Haymon-affiliated promoter wins the purse bid.

I wonder if the bigoted Eastern Eurpoean fighter fans on this site (not all of course but there is a section who are soley a fan of EE fighters and biased against anyone else) will be a fan of Artur even though he is with Haymon. Hmmmm A come forward fighter with scary power is always going to be a fan favorite. Not the right guy to politicize.

There is now way to predict because neither mans chin has been tested at that level. It very well may be a Powell-Bundradge.

At this stage Kovalev has the edge but I'm very impressed with Beterbiev. After only 8 fights I see Beterbiev as a star in the division very soon.

I need to see how Artur faces adversity, if he can adjust, and if he can fight differently if his original way of fighting isn't working. Kovalev has already shown all these attributes. Until then he has the upperhand.

Watching tonight v Campillo, I was visualising how a Betebiev-Kovalev bout might go. Kovalev seems to have a handspeed and footspeed advantage and probably the better jab, but he doesn't go well backing up and may have the inferior chin. Fight is too tough to call, forced to pick I'd go with Beterbiev but not with confidence. I think both beat Stevenson though, albeit Adonis has a good puncher's chance in both. Beterbiev has this vicious streak about him He doesnt simply head hunt, he throws combos to the body and head, with full brute force I dont think Kovs chin wud withstand a Beterbiev attack on the inside. Kov best bet wud be at long range I just feel Beterbievis a beast, something we havent seen before,

Kovalev right now. Beterbiev gets lit up trying to close range against him. Beterbiev is a monster at close range though. His short shots are beautiful.

Beterbiev knocks Kov clean out within 4 rounds

Haven't seen enough of Beterbiev against decent competition to get a good read on him. Forgive me if I'm not too impressed by him beating Cloud and Campillo. I want to see Beterbiev against Chilemba/Alvarez/Braehmer.

Beterbiev hasn't shown us enough. Kovalev just went 12 rounds dominating Hopkins and Beterviev has yet to go 5 rounds. He looks good. Sharp punches, clean footwork. Definitely the makings of a champion but Campillo seemed to only have a jab in there. Beterbiev needs a more game opponent, too bad Fonfara is fighting Chavez.

Both have power, but kovelev can box. If Artur thinks that he can walk in like a tank and overpower kovalev,he's going to eat a nice counter right and be put to sleep. Kovalev by KO before the 6th.
