It seems as though Maidana, after putting his heart and soul into the first fight with Mayweather, that he did not perform at the same level in the second, with pictures of Maidana blowing up to an apparent 200 lb. Is it possible that Maidana is just enjoying his payday, or has he "burnt out"? Does he have the same will and desire to stay at the highest level?
Maidana is capable of beating anyone from 140-147 lb. not named Mayweather or Pacquiao.
He proved he could beat Mayweather with an honest ref but judges robbed him. ref stopped him fighting giving him no chance in rematch
He will be back but I do think he's done.
Bank to back losses
Big money
Newborn
People tend to lose focus once the money comes in. Distractions with his new child and the losses. I dont think he'll be dedicated anymore. No dedication or hunger = you're done.
Hes not burned out. He could easily fight again if he wanted to.
But I think right now he is enjoying his 2 big Mayweather paychecks and living the high life. He probably does not have to fight again for financial reasons
Can see Haymon offering him Danny at a catchweight on short notice.
O you can bet on that, they gonna try to play some game and pull out all the stops to to limit Chino chance to 0. That just the facts is what they always have been doing.
Yeah he's done, did you see the first fight, he probably should have won or drawn at worst.
If you have watched Maidana in the past he struggled with Morales (he was done), Khan dropped him with a body shot, Ortiz knocked him down 2-3 times and Devon Alexander dominated him. These are probably some of the main reasons Floyd even fought him, but Marcos fought a great fight, given his overall boxing ability, if he got to wear his gloves (instead of pillows) in the first fight, we could be looking forward to Pac-Maidiana fight.
He will be back and he beats most 140-147 fighters, the rest would still have a tough fight. I would like to see Broner rematch, winner of Matthysee/ Provodnikov, Thurman or Brook any of those are guaranteed great fights.
I doubt it. He is a born fighter. Maybe he is discouraged but I hope he comes back strong because he is one of my favorite fighters. His next fight should show where he is at today.
I think he actually sat down and thought about the money he got from both Floyd fights and decided he should go and fight in matches that mirror this financial success.
For every one US dollar, you get nearly 9 Argentinian peso.
he is doing a lot for argentina's boxing, with chino and his brother, lucas nephew. cuellar and maciel too.
BROOO. Ezequiel Matthysse is a freaking beast! I added him on Facebook lol I've seen his amateur fights, he has crazy power. :boxing: Yupp, Cuellar is a beast and Maciel looks like Maidana lol
:lol1: Right. Made Gradovich a champ. Made Rios a champ. Mike Perez is now training with him

acording to danny garcia maidana did fine in both fights
acording to mayweather the second fight was harder
just because you post some biased ****ty highlights of the second fight doesnt mean maidana had a bad performance, i agree he should have throw more punches but he still did fine, at moments look like a monster vs a chicken mayweather running for his life
you are just a broner fan trying to feel better about yourself, dont lie to yourself brota
The fighters dont think so, Maidana sent his brother to go train with Robert Garcia, Matthysse sent his nephew to train with Robert Garcia.
So Professional boxers trust their family under Robert Garcia tutelage and he is one of the top respected trainers in the sport yet according to hes a idiot as a coach lmfao. okay seems legit.

He was planning on retiring but without Ariza I doubt he'll do good cause Robert Garcia is an idiot as a coach

Done? :lol1:
His career is just getting started, everyone wants to fight the guy. Outside of the champs of that division, he's the most wanted man at WW.
hes fines, he probably the only one at 140-147 with the most options available to him. Looks like the danny garcia fight will be getting made, I saw on his twitter him posting about him vs garcia is getting worked on and then him and garcia retweeting each other. So looks like thats a fight everyone wants. And Robert Garcia Said Maidana gonna only fight once this year in a big fight so who knows.
But to say his career is done lmfao why cause he chilling, he waiting for the other fighters that are available to him to get on his level so he can make a big fight with them.
It shouldn't be over, he is still in really good shape career wise. His mind doesn't seem in it at the moment and if that hunger is truly gone it is very hard to ever get back.
If he is checked out mentally he should stay away (other than an Argentina farewell fight), and live the good life maybe help young fighters in Argentina.
