I think he didnt expect to be swelled up as much as the first fight, if you look at his post fight interview you can see he didnt like how swollen up he was. Plus the fact he had to work harder to stay off the ropes and maidana knew how he fought.
Smart enough to know the quote was from months ago. Well before the Pacquiao fight was signed. But please, continue.
i said you are a genius, why do you considered yourself just smart?
the rare times floyd releases an statement and it has nothing to do with the Pac fight.
Why is floyd talking about the Maidana fight?
maybe to give NSB posters something to argue about?
You're so stupid.

it was harder because floyd beat him easier so he's gonna say that. the first fight was a lot closer so floyd will never come out and admit that. he's gonna say the 2nd fight was harder but somehow i made it look easier.
I'm honestly starting to believe that Mayweather phoned it in the first time around. He was never really in trouble - all that wild sh1t from Maidana got people excited.
He's just trying to make himself feel better and go against the view of fans who say he lost the first fight. Make it out like he laid on ropes on purpose on first fight . Just another way he massages his insecurity. And he also had higher standards for himself in the second fight. He took it more seriously.
Maybe because all that running and clinching tired him more than when he was forced to fight in the first matchup.
That's the only explanation I can think of, assuming OP is even telling the truth.
Floyd seems like a fighter who doesn't want to move any more because his body has slowed down, it's harder to do it for 12 rounds.
