Any fighter I happen to hear about and know nothing about, I tend to boxrec or google them. Especially when it comes to fighter's resumes.
I remember when I was 17 and seen the Pacquiao-JMM 2nd fight. I didn't know who Marquez was but I knew who Pacquiao was. Pacquiao at this time was my favorite boxer, due to his amazing spirit in how he came back stronger throughout the fights I watched of him(which was live tv, no youtube). I remember rooting for Pacquiao, but noticing Marquez doing amazing work, and all of sudden I was falling in love with Marquez technical skill. I remember shouting at my younger brother, "Watch the little Asian guy, he's going to come back stronger and knock this guy out". I remember at that moment that was when Pacquiao stumbled Marquez off his left hand counter in the later rounds. Then in the next rounds I seen Marquez feed off Pac energy and put on a boxing clinic. I remember when Pacquiao was rewarded the decision, I didn't think he deserved it. However since Pac was my favorite fighter at the time, I didn't think it was the end of the world and just hoped Pac gave him a rematch in his next fight.
I remember Marquez name and went to the library to use the internet and did research on him. Came to find out he fought Pac before, and I watched the first fight. I started following Marquez, and eventually he became my favorite boxer. I was just amazed by his technical smarts and warrior heart to trade off combinations when in the heat of oncoming offense. I still stand that Marquez only loss twice in his career. Bradley and Mayweather are the only men to have succeeded against him.
Anyway enough of my story.
