I'm not quite sure why there are so many people saying this is a 50/50 fight. Peterson is good, but who has he beaten? Khan? Come on, that was controversial at best. And when it's all said and done that will be looked at as the fight of his career...and he still lost.
Peterson is a counter puncher who likes to be aggressive and fight at middle to close range. The problem is, that for the most part, Garcia is the same type of fighter. But he is faster, bigger, stronger and has way more power. Plus, he doesn't have to move forward to do his best work. As Peterson gets more and more aggressive and tries to walk Garcia down and cut the ring off he's going to get hit with some big shots. Danny might get the stoppage. Otherwise, clear cut unanimous decision.

You forgot, he had a ref to wave off the fight prematurely.
Peterson always was a slow starter, and is not at his best in the early beginnings. He always seem to turn in to a different beast as the fight wear on. Lucas Matthyse didn't even knock the guy out, he took that left hook and got back up. At the end of the round, he got back up. It would had been a war, had they let the fight continue.
LIKE I SAID YOU GUYS DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT BOXING!!!
As I SAID PETERSON IS A SLOW STARTER, AS THE FIGHT WEARS ON, HE GETS BETTER and IS A DIFFERENT BEAST, AND I PICKED GARCIA TO WIN.
Danny Garcia does not have the skills and speed of Timothy Bradley and he doen't have the raw power of Lucas Matthysse. Yes, Garcia can KO any fighter with that left hook, but he's going to have to catch Peterson early with it. After 5, you will see the all around skill set and body work of Lamont take over the fight. I saw an old Zab Judah taking it to Danny in the last few rounds and a C level fighter like Herrera outwork him. Lamont is an all around better fighter at this stage of his career than those 2. If he avoids the big left hook, he wins the fight.
You are setting yourself up for depression.
Headrerra was jabs and headbutts all night. The judges were not fooled.
Danny 1 Herrera None

Why are people making a big deal over the belts? Most of the people who are complaining about the lack of belts don't even think Garcia should be champion anymore post-Herrera, and that Peterson shouldn't have a belt either post-Matthysse. Why do you guys want to continue to reinforce this championship farce by wanting them unify the belts they shouldn't have?
Both are fairly entertaining fighters whose skill levels are not THAT far apart. Betting odds are only 2 to 1, which is as even as we ever get in boxing. This should make for a decent fight. After the Herrera robbery, it's open season on Garcia, and there's no reason to continue believing Garcia is some unstoppable force.
Am I to believe the forum is actually a bunch of magpies in disguise that are easily entertained by shiny objects? Is that why you watch boxing? For the shiny trinkets? Not the fights? It's practically the same same fight at 143 that it would have been at 140, and I don't see how shiny belts should add or take away your enjoyment.
Who's calling it a mega fight?
My sentiments exactly. I never give a damn about the belt... It's a FIGHT to me. Fck all that WWF shyt.

If Lamont can take Danny's power (which... We all know he cant as hes vulnerable to left hooks which Danny happens to have a vicious one) then he'll probably win a unanimous and outwork Danny..... Thats dream scenario for them.
In real life he'll probably get stopped or go down so much it wont even matter how much he does when he isnt going down

It's one of the most overrated "match ups" of the year
People have been duped into thinking this is some sort of mega fight. The only intrigue would have been to see someone with all the belts but none of them are even on the line :lol1:
Who's calling it a mega fight?
Of course danny going to beat him, he has the illumanti on his side and garcia is fighting like 3 pounds heavier then the weight class, and even if peterson wins danny still remains that champ lmfao. OF COURSE DANNY IS GONNA WIN.

It is an interesting match up and the circumstances are taking away from the fight itself. You know that you shall be watching

Stop trolling.
He has good stamina, if you let him dig in, it will be a long night. Matthysse wrote the blueprint on Peterson, blitz him fast and fo home. I expect nothing less of Gift.

The only thing that makes it interesting is that Danny doesn't look hugely comfortable on the inside and Peterson can make it rough in there. Both Khan and Ortiz didn't want to know about it.
But I think Danny has too much dog in him to be outfought by Peterson and he's well capable of hurting him. Danny by stoppage would be my bet.
Garcia will win for sure.
Every Haymon A team member has beaten every Haymon B team member in all of the PBC cards so far...What I mean by this is that every fighter who you would think Haymon would want to win has won. Who will be the first person to screw this up? Maybe Andy Lee?

The catchweight completely robbed this fight of the main reason people wanted to see it. At least it's not a 10 rounder like was talked about at one point.
