For example, Jerry Quarry and Rocky Marciano would be cruiserweights today. Which great heavyweights would have been cruiserweights by today's standards?
You don't seriously believe that Louis would get close to a victory against Povetkin, Klitschko, Wilder or Fury, no? Cus he wouldn't. Too small and not used to fighting good opponents.
Fury fought Steve Cunningham, who has almost identical dimensions to Louis.. Cunningham a good but unspectacular CW dropped Fury HARD.. Louis would have taken Furys head off, and would never have let himself get in the same situation that Steve got himself in that led to his KO
Povetkin would have his ears boxed off by Louis
Wilder has athleticism and power but also no chin or technique. I don't see him landing that overhand right on Louis, but I can see JL land his right or left hook on Deontay.
Klitschko is huge but also has legit technique I'd favour him to beat JL, but I wouldn't count Louis out ever.. Look at the early rounds against Pulev, Pulev wobbled Wlad with a jab! 60/40 Klitschko IMO
Oh good lord, you really are a dummy! I'm willing to bet "TwoTon" Tony Galenta is better than anyone on Wilders record!
Yes there are champions with better resumes than Louis, same deal with Wlad Klitschko, but that wasn't your original argument! You said he was no good by modern standards! Which is a falsity, Louis is and for the foreseeable future be a concensus top 10 HW of all time..
But then again you are boxings equivalent to a Justin Bieber or One Direction fan so there's no point arguing with you!

Louis knocked out bums. Wilder already got a better resume.

Your an idiot by modern standards... Bro!!
Louis had tremendous power, excellent footwork, and terrific timing and very crisp technique! How about you explain yourself when you say he's not great by modern standards?

Joe Louis was good for his time, but he isn't good by modern standards, bro.

So they are all top 5 HW's (when Louis fought them) and most have fought against one another quite a few times, I dont understand your point.
They couldnt have got any better wins because Joe Louis was at the top of the pile knocking them all out. Its like criticising all of Klitschko's recent opponents because none of them have beaten him, makes no sense.
Povetkin got some good wins. Wlad beat him. Why couldn't Louis find an opponent as good as Povetkin? Was the era too weak?
Ive argued with you in another thread and to be honest I cant be arsed to do it again. It gets tedious having to explain every little thing.
Good luck with your thread
That certainly doesn't make it any better.

Im not an authority on this, but MAx Schmelling, Max Bear, Primo Carnera, Jersey Joe Walcott, JAmes Braddock, Billy Conn, Buddy Baer, NAthan Mann, Tommy Farr were all top 5, some were champions, some were hall of famers.
All were better than Stiverne and Malik Scott who have achieved pretty much nothing relatively. Not that that has anything to do with the thread you created
Look at the records of those guys, they all suck...
Which amazing wins did he have? Tell me Joe Louis' top 3 best wins. His resume was worse than Wilder's. There is not even a Scott or a Stiverne on Louis' win list.

Lmao you asked the question. Joe Louis, when he was younger, was one of the best hw's in history who fought below 200lbs

If they were taken straight out of the old era and stuck straight into this one then there are loads.
Young Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano, Jack Dempsey, Floyd Patterson are the best i can think of right now who fought below 200lbs.
If they were all raised and trained in the modern era they would all be decent sized heavyweights.
