Walters is far more powerful than the guys who has hurt and knocked Rigo down already and Walters is also quite skilled. Rigo is more skilled, though, and I expect him to last until the 8th round for that reason, but he would most likely get knocked out. Walters is too big, young, strong.
Walters is just too big for Rigo, and if all walters had was size then ill say its a 50/50 fight with me leaning towards Rigo but thats not all walters have dude can box really well aswell so imo Walters Ices Rigo.
NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN!
Rigondeaux is not moving up from 122 at least not anytime soon I don't think. People using Walters to take the Pressure off of Frampton and Quigg and others in his Division who are fukin TERRIFIED of Rigondeaux and his style
So I hope this fight NEVER HAPPENS so that others can fight their own battles!
very dangerous fight for rigo. walters is way too big and hits way too hard. rigo has very good defense and movement but there is always a chance he gets caught with a good punch like he did in his last fight.
And when that good punch catches him, it's all over for good old Rigo.
while i really like crawford, that fight with Gamboa didn't prove who was better. If Gamboa actually belonged anywhere near that weight class, he would have beaten Crawford. Gamboa is more skilled. TC came in over 150 and had every physical advantage. Gamboa just couldn't hurt him (save once, which speaks volumes of his power) and couldn't take a junior MW's punches.
That's how I feel about this fight, rigo is better than Walters but I just think the size advantage is too great to overcome.
Man don't bother.. I could tell from this guys first post that he'd already assigned Walters as the next big thing in his mind. Same with Crawford... people seem to forget Gamboa was winning easily till he got careless and even then could have just recovered rather than fight fire with fire... Crawford would want to avoid guys with good legs like Mikey Garcia

The question should be who would win, Rigo is not some Pinata that lasts till the candy falls out, he is a superb technician who can nullify the slower, less mobile Walters. Rigo has seen every style imaginable and can adjust. Not sure Walters has. Being bigger can go against Walters too because Rigo can make Walters look one step behind. Rigo by comfortable decision.
... I repeatedly reminded here that Donaire was fed up with boxing even before fighting Rigo -- he even contemplated retirement back then... Donaire can't stand as a "yardstick" in boxing anymore...
Talking of KD's a quick look at boxrec shows Walters was Kd'd by the mighty Carlos Manuel Reyes, and the insane power punching Alejandro Corrales (nope never heard of them either).
Not to mention him severly hurt by Donaire (way more hurt than Rigo).
By your logic we should be more worried for Walters :lol1:

Dude, if an unknown Japanese goofy could knock Rigo down twice and an unknown journeyman named Cordoba could do it, aswell as Donaire who is just not quite on par with Walters, then you got no good reason to think Rigo would survive.

You're embarrassing yourself now, really.
if he gets caught he is definitely going down for good with this guy.
You, Fernando Montiel and everyone else said the same about Donaire.....how can you people be this stupid? How many times must history repeat itself for you idiots to cop on

Cordoba was a world champion not an unknown journeyman(seriously don't impose your limited knowledge of boxing onto me).... Amagasa on the other hand is 3 and 1\2 inches taller than Walters and also was not unknown to people who actually follow the sport. How about Rigo is better than Walters at everything in boxing....everything bar power punching, is that not a "good reason"?
Donaire is a much more complete fighter than Walters and even past his best nearly took him out.... Walters ain't ****....he's not gonna go on and be great... so don't get your hope up

Rigo gets knocked down alot...but cant remb. him being really hurt tho....that being said think Rigo dominates unless he gets wobbled like Gamboa vs Crawford --a fight were the small guy was winning untill he gat caught and never recovered
I can't imagine you have the deductive reasoning for your opinions to matter in the slightest.

If Rigo ever took this fight and won it, he would definetely be in the P4P top 5. But I can't imagine him standing a chance here.

Just re-watched Walters vs Donaire... They fought mid range and close range... Walters doesn't appear to display the required skills (in terms of defense) in order to cause problems to Rigondeaux... But styles make...
Loma is fighting well at this distance (mid and close range)... I don't know -- Loma has only 3 pro fights... It's too soon, in my opinion, to make an actual assessment... Did Loma call Walters?
Not sure, Bob Arum was talking about it for this year but i havent anything for a while. I know Loma has a fight soon with a guy who i dont know. You'd have thought it shouldnt be difficult to make as they are both with Top Rank, and neither commands enough money that they can be diva's about it.
Yeah Lomachenko still has some improving to do, but hes starting to show the ability he showed in the Ams.
This Rigo has been hurt and down against lesser and less powerful fighters logic is severely flawed in my opinion. Some people were using the very same logic before the Donaire fight and we know how it turned out.
I would expect Rigo to bring his A-game and remain focused at all times against a skilled and hard-hitting fighter like Walters. Basically, I would expect to see the Rigo who fought Donaire, regarding his rival as a threat, not the Rigo who fought Amagasa. I think there's a difference between both. You don't drive with the same concentration at 50 mph and at 120 mph.
However, that would a tough fight for Rigo to win as Walters looks two division bigger than him.
See ^^^^ This right here is whats wrong with boxing fans..... Walters knocks out a washed up Vic and an out of shape Donaire and is now a P4P puncher? Where is his highlight reel Like Javier Fortuna's?
Donaire to this day hits ****ing Miles harder than Walters and its the reason he has declined as a fighter...falling in love with his left hook(the best one in boxing) was his downfall.....get the **** out of here fanboy
You might be right...................... But I still want to watch Lomachenko fighting more "regular" guys before taking on Walters, for instance (Rigo excluded)...
