yea i know he was ballsy. fought everyone. but top 10 ATG? he literally lost to every single good opponent. To me he's just like cotto level
here's the list of people he lost to
Esteban De Jesús
Sugar Ray Leonard
Wilfred Benítez
Kirkland Laing
Marvelous Marvin Hagler
hearns
Robbie Sims
and some more past his prime
so. He got some gift decisions like with Iran Barkerly.
Edit. Apparently the one with moore was a robbery as well
he's at best top 40 and i'm being generous..he lost to every elite fighter he faced and to add on to your analysis.
after 135 duran never defended any title he won. duran is the manny pacquiao of his era good action fighter but got strached evertime he stepped up to mfight the best of his era.
this nig.ga is stupid as sh.it

The problem with the internet is that any idiot can come here and post their worthless opinions.
Duran is not an all time great? GTFOH!
Just because you don't recognize the names on his resume, doesn't mean they weren't great. He beat numerous number 1 contenders and top guys in the division.
So many fail attempts to try and discredit Duran. His reign at 135 alone makes him top 10. Everything else just enhances his legacy. He never ducked prime challenges. He fought everyone. Fraud would never step in against Hearns or Hagler. Go see the video of Margarito confronting your deity. Duran would have ***** slapped Antonio.
duran was 71-1 and already in his 30's when sugar gay beat him.
his one loss was to a great fighter in dejesus when he was only 21 (WHICH HE AVENGED)
he won like 40 in a row AT CHAMPIONSHIP LEVEL.
he was already an ATG/HOFer before jumping to 147 and up in his 30's.
all those fights were just icing on the cake.
dumb trucks.

He is the best lightweight of all time. Beat a prime Sugar Ray Leonard at welterweight. Not to mention he came back from embarrassing defeats like Leonard 2 and Hearns to accomplish some huge things in boxing. Gave one of if not the best middleweight ever Marvin Hagler a run for his money. Became WBC middleweight champ by defeating Barkley at 38. He was even later robbed after getting stiffed by the judges against Vinny Paz when he was about 43 for the IBC at middleweight. I don't even remember when he got into the terrible car crash giving him back problems, amazing that he was able to continue his career with that incident alone.
Once again this site proves why it's the easiest site to troll in the whole interweb
And you never miss an opportunity to show that do you? Your like the idiot who once proclaimed that "Liberace was the best painist because he took all the boring notes out of Bach when he played!"
:thinking:You're a moron lol
Name another fighter who beat Sugar Ray in his prime, who is one of the greatest fighters of all time fighting in the most stacked division in the golden era of boxing.
Duran stayed fighting on the highest level boxing for half a century. He beat Iran Barkley-who beat hearns twice and knocked him the **** out- when he was 37 years old after fighting as a pro for 21 years during which he was one of the greatest lightweights of all time.
he beat Barkley? . It was a close fight, it could've gone either way, and I scored it for Iran.
Must be mad because their hero never took a chance and lost (wait there was the Jose Luis Castillo fight, not to mention Maidana probably won also).
Roberto Duran's record was 72-1 at 135, then he moved up to 147, beat one of the greatest fighters of all time, then beat Davey Moore who was a hot prospect but not ready for Duran, then he goes up to 160 and only loses to Hagler (one of the best middleweight champs ever) by 1 point over 15 rounds (the only fighter to go 15 rounds with Hagler when he was champ).
If that doesn't make you an all time great fighter, what does, Pretty Boy wouldn't even fight Sergio Martinez at 160 (Martinez actually offered to come down as low as 150).
Also I think you mean he beat Davey Moore like he tried to rob him, fight was a one sided beating.
He did beat leonard, and basically cleared out n dominated the lightweight division..
And he also had big wins over moore n Barkley
Thread fail
This......
I think Duran gets most of his credit because:
1.He dominated LW to the point he was unbeatable at the weight
2.He was supremely skilled, power in both hands and a truly underrated defense
3.He went up and beat a PRIME ATG SRL.
4.Pretty much every fight he had at higher weights he was already out of his prime going toe to toe with ATG fighters.
you have very los standards..that's what makes you an idiot. how many title defenses of the 160 title he won in a robbery against barkely did he make?
duran lost to every fighter who was good in his era no way he makes it into my top ten let alone top 30.. and losses do matter.
Duran lost to Barkley in my opinion too. Barkley got screwed against Nunn as well.
