stevenson won't fight kovalev doe because he doesn't bring any money. this proves that if you have confidence in yourself and fight the best you can always make more than if you cherry pick bums.
Pascal sold out the venue, and the large share of the money that actually came in was likely as a result of Canadian PPV buys, who were paying to see Pascal. What the heck are you talking about?
Doubt that Kovalev even ends up with $1m for fighting Mohamedi, lol.
@WaifuCru i got it, 3.24 to kovalev and 2.76 for pascal— Victor M. Salazar Jr (@BoxingVoice_Vic) March 15, 2015
Pretty good for Kovalev considering he only made $500k vs Hopkins and after taxes & team, only banked $125k.
Good for Kovalev. That makes me genuinely happy.
What do you mean what does it have to do with your post? What don't you understand of my reply?
You called her a goddess. Doesn't seem like one to me, seemed like she was dishonest or misleading in disagreeing with Kovalev in what he earned in the Hopkins fight. Why would Kovalev lie about what he earned?
She's not a 'goddess'. And Kovalev finally got paid thanks to Pascal, Pascal's promoter, and the boxing popularity in Canada.
For a long time no promoter would sign Kovalev. Bob Arum laughed at him, Golden Boy turned him down, the guy fought 4 years for free until Main Events took a chance on him.
They put him on NBC against Campillo, took a chance sending him to Wales and they pressured for the Hopkins fight after Stevenson fell through. Look at him now, they've done well with him.
How does this have anything to do with my post? lmao

Damn, that's a nice chunk. If the ratios are the same as the Hopkins fight, he walked away with 810K after taxes.
Kovalev got paid!!
War Kathy "the Godess" Duva
Not sure about that. Duva went against Kovalev's word that he only took home $125k. I believe the fighter more than the promoter. The fighter should know what he sees in his own bank account and there's no reason to be ungrateful and lie about what you took home. I'm happy for Kovalev, that he got that much money now.

To be fair, that money comes mostly from Pascal, the Canadian PPV payers, and the crowd. No such thing as $6 million dollars would have been offered for Kovalev vs Stevenson. Maybe now it would, but certainly not before.
Wtf pascal should have gotten like 70%
Kovalev isn't a small enough name to get that much as a traveling champ
I paid for it but I'd be shocked if 20,000 others did too. We're 1/10th the population of usa, I can't imagine it making up a big chunk of the purses. Ringside seats were 500, anything decent was 160-250 so I'm guessing that contributed more.
Well I'd be surprised if HBO offered anything over their usual max of 3M for a fight, you're right though.
What're canadian PPV numbers usually like
Lol, that's my twitter
No way, most likely most from Canadian ppv

Did that $6M come out of HBO's pocket?

They deserved it, to say the least.
I was actually surprised at the quantity but I'm sure Kov is riding high after earning peanuts on his last night out.

Explains why I had to pay 70 bucks for it lol. Well worth it though.
